If you’re anything like me, you can appreciate a beautiful flower arrangement, but if you had to do it, you would have no clue where to begin.

I often think arranging flowers needs an abundance of pieces with the goal of filling the vase, but after a meeting with Erica Dias, founder of Helen Florals, I’ve learned more about how the opposite can be true.

At the core of Helen Florals is Japanese Ikebana, a centuries-old floral art form that emphasizes balance, minimalism, and negative space. While Western arrangements prioritize fullness, Ikebana values restraint and thoughtful placement.

Source: Pexels

For Erica, that philosophy mirrors her relationship with entrepreneurship.

“What you leave out is just as important as what you include – in business and in life,” she explained.

Known for her national public relations work, Helen Florals, named after her grandmother, began as a passion project and hobby. But her hobby became more when she decided to pivot. Rather than waiting for burnout, she recognized that growth sometimes requires refinement.

Like many who decide to pivot, the fear of starting over and losing credibility crossed her mind, and yet she moved forward, bringing her experience developing partnerships and crafting brand narratives into this new space.

What’s different about this? With Helen Florals, Erica is at the forefront.

“You don’t discard your expertise,” she says. “You repurpose it.”

She has transitioned from shaping narratives for others to building her own, one centered on legacy and mindful design. Her way of putting her work into the world is built around the things she knows so well, relationships and experiential marketing.

Her workshops, hosted in Houston and Atlanta, have partnered with brands such as Crate & Barrel to elevate retail spaces into environments where guests are invited to slow down and create intentionally.

Attendees are invited to think of alignment and reconnect. In an era where hustle culture dominates, Erica invites every attendee, mostly women navigating their own career roadmaps, to consider what story they want to tell about themselves, a unique and emotional experience at a floral workshop.

Erica knows that story all too well. “I realized I wasn’t called to abandon storytelling; I was called to tell it differently.”

Join the next Helen Florals workshop, April 19, 2026, 1 PM – 3 PM, Crate & Barrel Houston, and follow them on social to find out where and when the next workshop takes place.

Young dreamers, creators & innovators from across the country all traveled to Phoenix, Arizona for the Forbes 30 Under 30 Summit. The Summit recognizes the country’s brightest founders and entrepreneurs who are going beyond the limits and creating change in their communities.

They have the numbers to prove their impact — that’s $3.8B+ total funding raised by the Under 30 Listers and the social following to match. This year’s list is a standout from the previous year’s. With AI playing a significant part in how Generation Z gathers data, creates insights, and builds systems, the possibilities of what can be created have truly become infinite.

“Focus on becoming. As you focus on becoming who God has created you to be, and the purpose that’s already evident in the fact that you were born on this earth. I want to make sure people aren’t chasing a list, but they’re chasing a purpose. And as you chase your purpose, things will come to you,” Nyamekye Wilson said, a 2026 Forbes Under Lister and Founder of Black Sisters in STEM, the largest talent ecosystem of Black women in STEM (SIS).

Celebrities like Dwayne Wade, Ashley Graham, Michael Phelps, and the founders of iconic brands like Lindsey Carter of SET Active and Shawn Fanning of Napster graced the main stage to share gems about what it takes to build a viral brand and a community.

“Get into the mindset of the consumer. We all want to feel and be a part of something. We want to connect to the person, not only the product. Treat the consumer like your friend,” was shared during the Viral Marketing 101: How Social Media Can Ignite A Consumer Brand panel featuring Lindsey Carter and Jake Karls.

“If you want to create a big business, you have to have a strong foundation. For me, that’s VCP, which means vision, capital, and people,” explained serial entrepreneur Marc Lore.

“If you’re not doing anything new or crazy, PUSH HARDER. Make your scope more ambitious. Don’t be scared when people say your idea is crazy or dangerous,” was advised during the Radical Creation: How to Build Companies That Shake Society, featuring panelists Shawn Fanning and Andrew Frame.

Curious about how to become an Under 30 Lister? Beyond the basics like having to be 29 1/2 years old, the Forbes team that develops this iconic list every year shared insider tips on how YOU can make next year’s list:

Numbers: Quantify your impact.

Stories: Know how to tell your story concisely.

Growth: Show the reach, scale, and potential for growth.

Founders: Both entrepreneurial founders and full-time (9-5) founders can make the list, too.

Transparency: Be transparent about your business.

Being in the room reminded me that age is a non-factor. During our 20s, we’re all in a transition with a desire to get somewhere. Our minds are the brightest and filled with ideas the world has yet to see. The difference is — some of us put the strategy in place to get it done, and others don’t. Be strategic, not stagnant.

It doesn’t matter how radical, unusual, or out-of-the-box your idea may seem. If you’re passionate about what you can do and stay committed to it, then it can happen.

The beauty about this is you don’t have to do it alone, either. In fact, most founders who are billionaires didn’t. They had a community, team, and investors all backing up the one vision they decided to pursue. Today, those visions are the very tools, apps, and systems we use. It’s what I like to call “ordinary people with extraordinary ideas”.

Don’t let someone else create the tools our generation needs. We are leading the charge.

5 Ways To Build A Stronger Bond With Your Partner While Balancing A Busy Career https://heragenda.com/p/5-ways-to-build-a-stronger-bond-with-your-partner-while-managing-a-busy-career/ Tue, 21 Apr 2026 16:00:00 +0000 https://heragenda.com/p/ Read More... from 5 Ways To Build A Stronger Bond With Your Partner While Balancing A Busy Career

]]>

Balancing personal and professional life is a juggling act that may seem impossible at times. Knowing when to take a break and make time for your partner is key to creating a strong bond. Making time and spending time– but more importantly, being present is what will sustain your relationship.

If you’re goal-oriented and find that a busy career takes up the majority of your time, it can be difficult to create a strong bond with your partner. Defining a level of importance and priority in your life can bring about balance and peace. If you’re not sure where to begin, keep reading!

1. Think As A Unit

A part of prioritizing your partner is understanding that you and your partner are one. Thinking as a unit means everything is plural and says “we.” This means that you are considering your partner when making almost all of your decisions. If they truly matter to you, you’re including them in your daily activities, whether that’s making them aware or inviting them to join. Bonds are created and sustained together; both parties have to be involved and invested.

Ascension Counseling says going from “me vs. you” to “we’re in this together” is the key. The biggest shift in many relationships isn’t dramatic. It’s a quiet decision to act like a team, especially when life gets loud. “We” thinking turns everyday stress into an opportunity to stand side by side instead of across from each other.

2. Listen More Than You Speak

We were given two ears and one mouth for a reason. Listening is imperative, especially when it comes to relationships. Being able to effectively hear your partner out, understand what they are conveying, and respond accordingly can make all the difference. Communication is the foundation of bonding with your partner, especially when you’re balancing a busy career.

According to Verywell Mind, Active listening goes beyond simply hearing words and also involves being present, noticing nonverbal cues, and engaging with the speaker to understand both the meaning and intent.

3. Express Gratitude Often

Just as you express gratitude for grand gestures, do the same for small things as well. It’s also important to let your partner know you’re thankful for non-material things as well. It could be kind gestures, thoughtfulness, or whatever your love language reads. Letting them know they are appreciated goes a long way. Never underestimate the power of a grateful heart.

Montgomery Counseling Group says some key benefits of gratitude include:

 • Deepening emotional intimacy – Gratitude can make your partner feel valued. It helps your partner if they are seen, heard, and valued.
 • Reducing tension – It is easier to handle disagreements among partners when your relationship is built on the foundation of gratitude and appreciation rather than criticism.
 • Increasing relationship satisfaction – Research shows that couples who regularly express gratitude and appreciate each other report higher levels of happiness together.

4. Be Your Partner’s Safe Space

Every relationship thrives on safety and vulnerability. If your partner feels safe enough to be vulnerable, sustaining a bond is possible. No matter how busy you get, making time to be your partner’s safe haven on a bad day, a great day, or just being present is a gift in itself. Also, knowing that you also have that support is a priceless feeling, knowing you have someone in your corner who genuinely cares and wants the best for you.

According to Insight to Action, when we choose to enter into a relationship or a partnership, we are choosing to take on another human being’s concerns and make them our own. We support each other, encourage each other, defend each other, and soothe each other. It’s part of the deal! In a good relationship, both people work to be each others’ sanctuary. Knowing how to help your partner de-stress is an important aspect of being your partner’s safe place.

5. Let Vulnerability Be A Gateway To Understanding

As stated above, vulnerability is what cements a bond; it’s how your partner gets to truly understand you and who you are. Your past experiences don’t make you, but they play a part in your being. Allowing yourself to open up to your partner comes with trust, and with busy careers and lives, trust must be solidified.

Verywell Mind says, no matter what type of relationship we’re talking about—be it friendship, familial, or romantic—vulnerability is key to fostering a closer, deeper, and more authentic bond with another person. It keeps us honest with each other and ourselves, breaks down walls, eliminates the potential for miscommunication and misunderstandings, and allows us to be wholly ourselves.

Why Good Mental Health Is A Career Requirement, Not A Luxury https://heragenda.com/p/why-good-mental-health-is-a-career-requirement/ Tue, 21 Apr 2026 12:00:00 +0000 https://heragenda.com/p/ Read More... from Why Good Mental Health Is A Career Requirement, Not A Luxury

When it comes to mental health, it should be prioritized and not taken lightly. Your mental health determines your well-being, your sanity, and your career. Focusing on maintaining good mental health makes all the difference in how you lead your life as well as your outlook on life.

Mental health is a career requirement, not a luxury, because without it, you won’t be able to function properly. Just as everything begins and ends with your brain, if your mental health is off, so will everything else in your life.

Source: Pexels

Your Mental Health Determines Your Lifestyle

Your lifestyle is created and dependent on your beliefs and how you view the world. Doing uplifting and positive activities elevates your brainwave and keeps the endorphins flowing. The things you invite into your life, decide to place yourself around, and the kind of people you engage with are all a part of the makeup of your lifestyle. This contribution is how your mental health determines your lifestyle. Your decisions ultimately define your outcome.

According to Psychiatry.org, Research suggests healthy lifestyle behaviors and habits promote mental health and wellness and can be used to both prevent and treat mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, bipolar spectrum disorders, posttraumatic stress disorder, and psychotic disorders. These lifestyle behaviors are grouped into six general categories:

 • Physical activity
 • Diet and Nutrition
 • Mind-body and mindfulness practices
 • Restorative sleep
 • Social connections
 • Avoiding harmful substances

Your Outlook On Life Depends On Your Mental Health

If you wake up every morning with a negative mindset, that sets the tone for your day. Your outlook and perspective are all you have in your world, so beginning each day positively relies heavily on your mental health. Managing your mood, taking care of yourself, and speaking life into yourself all play an integral part in your life.

According to the Mayo Clinic, Health benefits that positive thinking may provide include:

 • Increased life span
 • Lower rates of depression
 • Lower levels of distress and pain
 • Greater resistance to illnesses
 • Better psychological and physical well-being
 • Better cardiovascular health and reduced risk of death from cardiovascular disease and stroke
 • Reduced risk of death from cancer
 • Reduced risk of death from respiratory conditions
 • Reduced risk of death from infections
 • Better coping skills during hardships and times of stress

You Won’t Have A Career If You Don’t Have Good Mental Health

It’s hard to focus on a career when your life is falling apart, or it feels like it. Creating a balance with your personal and professional life is pivotal when it comes to your mental health. You have to choose yourself first, make time to hone in on healthy choices, people, and circumstances to prevent the likes of stress, anxiety, and burnout; otherwise, a career isn’t feasible.

Serene Health states that recognizing when your mental health is being neglected is a crucial step toward better well-being. It’s not always as evident as physical health changes, and sometimes, it’s the small, subtle shifts that can signal a need for attention. One sign is a severe change in your mood, where you might become more irritable, sad, or anxious than usual. Similarly, changes in sleep patterns — either sleeping too much or struggling with insomnia — can be a sign that you need to check your mental health.

You may also notice a loss of interest in activities you once enjoyed or a decrease in your ability to concentrate or make decisions.

Think Of Your Mental Health As A Means Of Life Or Death

Good mental health is a career requirement, not a luxury, because your life is at stake. Conditions such as depression and seasonal affective disorder can be as dangerous as life or death. Knowing how to monitor yourself and notice when things are becoming too overwhelming is key. Sometimes you have to take a break, step back, and reset. This may even mean taking a few days off. Your mental health should always come first.

Plan Street adds that untreated mental health is often identified with a sense of hopelessness, sadness, worthlessness, feelings of guilt, anxiety, fear, and a perceived loss of control. When you’re feeling these symptoms, you must seek tips and treatment for mental health from a certified professional before it’s too late.

How To Build A Wardrobe That Matches Your 2026 Ambition https://heragenda.com/p/how-to-build-a-wardrobe-that-matches-your-2026-ambition/ Tue, 14 Apr 2026 12:00:00 +0000 https://heragenda.com/p/ Read More... from How To Build A Wardrobe That Matches Your 2026 Ambition

As a professional looking to make a mark in your career, your workplace wardrobe is a subtle but impactful way to do so. Your clothing choices represent both your personal style and your professional ambition. Having a good work wardrobe is important as it affects perception as well as disposition. It should make you look and feel professional and confident.

Crafting a professional wardrobe that reflects your goals and aspirations is key to making a lasting impression in the business world.

However, to do this, you have to understand the foundational models behind building a good work wardrobe and, more importantly, the practical steps to take, such as selecting the right pieces and styling them appropriately. In this piece, I’ll explore the key elements of creating a wardrobe that reflects your ambition.

Source: Unsplash

How To Think About Your Workplace Wardrobe

Before getting into the specific clothes to buy and how to style them professionally, there are a few concepts to note that influence these steps.

Focus on Your Fit and Comfort – Your work wardrobe shouldn’t have you counting down the hours until you can change. Focus on fit, such as relaxed trousers, a comfortable gown, or high-waisted pants, and comfort using breathable fabrics (like cotton or linen blends), adjustable waistbands, and silhouettes that let you move easily through your day.

Understand Your Organization’s Dress Codes – Before building your work wardrobe, you need to know the different dress codes that are common in the business world and, more importantly, your specific organization. This will help you navigate the company’s expectations and requirements.

Separate your Work Wardrobe from your Regular Wardrobe – I recommend building a completely separate work wardrobe, as it makes it easier to create outfits by reducing decision fatigue. A ‘dual wardrobe’ model means you can compartmentalize your professional fits and personal fits, making it easy to dress with intention and clarity.

Audit the Work Wear You Already Have – Take inventory of your current work wardrobe and assess each piece. Does it fit well, suit your professional image, and make you feel confident? Sort items into keep, alter, replace, or remove, and note any gaps like missing blazers, trousers, or versatile basics. This helps you invest in new pieces and build your wardrobe intentionally.

Incorporate Your Personal Style – There is no one-size-fits-all work wardrobe. The basics might get you started, but you must also consider the workplace culture and your own style. Experiment and find what fits your body shape and personality. Adding a touch of personal style is a good way to express individuality. For instance, you can opt for silk scarves, statement necklaces, or stylish shoes to add flair to basic looks. This will not only make you feel confident and comfortable in your clothes, but also set you apart from others.

Setting Up Your Workplace Wardrobe

Start With Quality Basics

The foundation of a workplace wardrobe is a set of quality and classic basics. These are staple pieces that can be mixed and matched to create endless outfit possibilities. Some must-have basics include a well-tailored blazer, a white button-down shirt, a bold midi skirt, tailored trousers, a camel coat, comfortable commuter flats, a range of different tops (shirts, knit sweaters, cardigans), and a versatile corporate black dress. When choosing these pieces, find one that fits your silhouette perfectly and complements your shape. These pieces make up the basic capsule wardrobe, and if chosen right, 20 pieces could be all you need (e.g., 3 blazers, 3 pairs of pants, 3 skirts, 8 tops, 3 pairs of shoes).

Source: Pexels
Bring In Statement Pieces

To reflect your personal style, you need to incorporate one or two statement items per outfit: a patterned blouse, a standout necklace, or a unique blazer. These can be comfortably paired with basics. As the seasons change, new trends emerge, so it’s good to incorporate trending pieces with the basic pieces mentioned in order to build a tailored work wardrobe.

Another way to make a statement is to bring in less than subtle colours. Earth tones, muted pastels, and soft jewel shades add interest without distracting from your professionalism. Try layering a soft olive shirt under a charcoal blazer, or team taupe trousers with a soft grey sweater.

Accessorize With Detail

The details matter. A well-chosen belt, a classic watch, a patterned scarf, or understated jewellery can make basics feel intentional and personalized. Avoid loud and flashy accessories, and instead let your accessories support your outfit. Keep them refined and complementary.

Millennial women are defining their own paths, both professionally and personally. Instead of choosing traditional routes of marriage and motherhood, millennials are choosing careers over carriages. The focus is on success first, and children may be, after.

Her Agenda has gathered some key findings and reasoning behind the decline in the current birth rate. If you’re curious about the effects workplace pressures have on making major life decisions, keep reading.

Source: Pexels

What Is The ‘Motherhood Penalty’?

Many factors come into play for women when it comes to motherhood, as she is the one sacrificing so much from her body, emotions, work, and more.

According to Jasmine Escalera, Zety’s Career Expert, America’s declining birthrate is more than just a cultural shift; it’s a direct consequence of the “motherhood penalty” and corporate culture.

Zety Data states that 87% of mothers say they have missed out on promotions and growth opportunities due to becoming a parent, and 90% had to alter their career path. This is also known as the motherhood penalty, as women rightfully take maternity leave, their spots are often temporarily filled or replaced by someone else. This leads women to feel as if bearing a child is not a primary factor while they are chasing their goals and dreams. Thus, the decline of childbirth and the rise of millennial entrepreneurs and successful businesswomen.

Millennial Women Are Choosing To Have Fewer Or No Kids At All

The Zety Data also revealed that 84% of mothers felt like their pregnancy was viewed as an inconvenience at work, and 77% actually feared telling their boss or coworkers that they were pregnant. Entering the “Pregnancy Postpone Effect.”

The “pregnancy postone effect” evaluates the mother’s belief that having a child is a setback or disadvantage. As a result, millennial women prefer to postpone having children until they are settled into their careers and solidified. Although job security and negative reactions are still a heightened fear for many women, according to Zeta Data.

Source: Pexels

Maternity Leave Expectations Are Shortening

The Zeta Data also highlights that 81% of mothers were asked to return to work early or adjust their maternity leave specifically for their employer’s benefit. The inconsiderate and unjust manner of the workplace can be brutal and selfish, prompting stress and anxiety at the worst time, during postpartum.

Ultimately, there aren’t many positive outcomes to having children if you’re looking to have an elevated career. Companies prioritize themselves and don’t allow mothers proper time to heal or bond with their babies.

According to Bonnie Marcus of Forbes, motherhood penalizes professional women in several ways. Not only does it negatively affect their income and leadership status, but it also influences their ability to get promoted and hired. They are often overlooked when it comes to career-advancing opportunities.

As a result, millennial career women are painting their paths in their 20s and 30s and choosing to have children or not in their late 30s or early 40s. This isn’t a negative note, as life’s essentials require more revenue, and stability comes with age and maturity.

Today’s Parent states that being an over-40 mom was considered unusual and even dangerous in the past, but today it’s more common and has fewer risks, thanks to medical advancements. A lot of parents wait to start a family once their careers are in focus, they’ve attained a certain level of financial stability, they’ve taken the time to find the right partner, or they’ve benefited from advancements in infertility treatments. Parenthood has become a personal choice based on circumstances, and not a deviation from a single “right” timeline.

Double The Benefits? Understanding If You Can Have Both An HSA And An HRA https://heragenda.com/p/double-the-benefits-understanding-if-you-can-have-both-an-hsa-and-an-hra/ Thu, 09 Apr 2026 16:00:00 +0000 https://heragenda.com/p/ Read More... from Double The Benefits? Understanding If You Can Have Both An HSA And An HRA

]]>

Designing a cost-effective, attractive benefits package requires thoughtful choices and careful navigation of often complex benefit combination rules. Tools like health savings accounts (HSAs) and health reimbursement arrangements (HRAs) are promising options. If you’ve wondered whether you can have an HRA and an HRA at the same time with IRS guidance, here’s what you need to know.

What Is An HSA?

An HSA is a personal savings account designed to help you pay for qualified medical expenses. It’s available only if you are enrolled in a high deductible health plan (HDHP), where:

 • Contributions are tax-deductible.
 • Your money grows tax-free.
 • You can take money out tax-free to pay qualified medical expenses.
 • The account is fully portable, even if your situation changes.

This triple tax advantage makes HSAs an appealing long-term strategy, especially since unused funds roll over and can serve as a retirement supplement.

SOURCE: PEXELS

What Is An HRA?

An HRA is an employer-funded benefit that reimburses employees for medical expenses. Unlike HSAs:

 • Only employers can contribute.
 • Funds do not belong to the employee permanently.
 • Reimbursements are tax-free when used for eligible expenses.

Employers decide how much to contribute, which allows you to tailor an HRA to your business needs.

Can You Have An HSA And An HRA At Ahe Same Time, According To IRS Guidance?

The short answer is yes, but with important limitations. You can have both an HSA and an HRA only if the latter is structured in a way that does not interfere with HSA eligibility.

You may be able to pair an HSA with a:

 • Limited-purpose HRA, which covers only dental and vision expenses.
 • Post-deductible HRA, which reimburses expenses only after you meet your HDHP deductible.
 • Retirement HRA, which is used only after retirement.

You generally cannot contribute to an HSA if you have a standard HRA that reimburses general medical expenses before your deductible is met.

What Are The Advantages Of Combining An HSA And A Compatible HRA?

If set up correctly, this structure contributes to layered financial stability and greater flexibility, enabling you and your employees to:

 • Maximize tax efficiency: Use HRA funds first, since they don’t roll over permanently, preserving your HSA for long-term growth.
 • Reduce out-of-pocket costs: HRAs can cover specific expenses that might otherwise have to come from the HSA or personal funds.
 • Create a strategic safety net: You gain both immediate reimbursement support and a long-term savings vehicle.

For every $1.00 your company spends on health coverage, it gets back $1.47 in employee productivity, retention, and direct medical costs. Investing in a combined HSA and HRA strategy can benefit everyone.

SOURCE: PEXELS

What To Consider Before Combining An HSA And HRA

Your business structure matters because sole proprietors, S-corp owners and partners may have different eligibility rules. HRAs require formal setup and compliance oversight, which adds to the administrative burden. Because the brand funds them, you will need to plan contributions.

It’s wise to choose a firm of administrators that specializes in managing both HSAs and compatible HRAs. According to Taylor Britt — Vice President of Marketing at The Difference Card — “Employers must structure an HRA carefully to avoid unintended consequences.” Working with experts will ensure compliance and avoid IRS penalties.

A Smarter Way To Layer Your Benefits

The most effective approach is often strategic layering. For example:

 • Use a limited-purpose HRA to cover dental and vision expenses.
 • Continue contributing to your HSA for broader medical costs and long-term savings.
 • Let your HSA grow by paying smaller expenses out-of-pocket when possible.

This approach helps stretch every dollar while keeping options open.

Frequently Asked Questions About HSAs And HRAs

This is a complex area. There are some common questions, but seek qualified advice if you are unsure.

What Happens To Unused HRA funds?

Employers decide if funds roll over. Often, they are use-it-or-lose-it within the plan year.

Can My Spouse’s HRA Disqualify My HSA?

Yes. If their general-purpose HRA can reimburse your expenses, you may not be able to contribute.

Are There HSA Contribution Limits?

Yes. The IRS sets annual maximums for individuals and families that are updated periodically.

Making the Right Choice for Your Health Care Benefits Package

Balancing an HSA and an HRA can align your health care strategy with your business and personal goals. With the right setup, it brings immediate financial relief while helping you and your employees build a financial cushion for the future. This combination can offer many advantages, provided you understand the rules and design your benefits intentionally.

Why Digital Minimalism Is The Ultimate Career Power Move https://heragenda.com/p/digital-minimalism-career-power-move/ Thu, 09 Apr 2026 12:00:00 +0000 https://heragenda.com/p/ Read More... from Why Digital Minimalism Is The Ultimate Career Power Move

]]>

As the workplace descends into a technological overhaul, it’s become the norm for organizations to use multiple software applications, which can make things incredibly overwhelming. Workers use too many tools. They add new apps every time a problem appears. Over time, this creates chaos. Your digital workspace starts slowing you down.

As individuals are rethinking how they engage with the digital space, this is now entering the corporate workspace. Professionals are now auditing their apps, disabling notifications, scheduling screen-free hours, and setting technological boundaries. Some are even adopting analog tools such as physical planners to reduce reliance on the digital space. By doing this, they are finding new ways to protect their time and energy and prioritize using tech with intention.

These changes aren’t just about productivity; they’re about sustainability. Clear systems ensure your workflow flows naturally. When your mind isn’t overwhelmed, creativity and problem-solving become stronger. Digital minimalism isn’t about having less. It’s about having exactly what you need—and nothing that drains your attention.

Source: Unsplash

Practical Ways of Building a Digital Minimalist Work-Culture

1. Reduce Digital Clutter

If your digital system is cluttered, your mind can feel cluttered too. Digital tools can become easily overwhelming if they’re not kept in check, so a clean workspace is essentially towards reducing stress and creating an environment that fosters concentration and efficiency. A few ways to achieve this are by cleaning up your computer, organizing your digital files simply, simplifying your schedule/calendar, reducing the number of tabs open, and, more importantly, evaluating your digital tools to assess their effectiveness and regular usefulness.

2. Define Your Purpose and Prioritize Tasks

Begin with a clear understanding of what you want to achieve. These values and goals will shape your daily actions, and this clarity will help you to prioritize your tasks. Ask yourself which activities will bring you closer to your objectives and eliminate distractions that dilute your efforts. This focused approach prevents burnout and allows you to complete tasks more effectively.

3. Establish Strong Digital Boundaries

Establishing clear boundaries is essential for maintaining focus and preventing burnout. Start by defining your working hours and stick to them. Inform colleagues and clients about your availability, so they know when to reach you. Also, create a dedicated workspace; this physical separation signals to your brain when it’s time to work.

4. Choose Tools and Create Routines Intentionally

Do not collect applications without thinking. The minimalist approach is simple: every tool must serve a clear purpose. Your setup should encourage deep focus. Using only essential tools, one for task management, one for communication, one cloud storage service, one note-taking app, and more as you need them. Similarly, create routines for the things you have to do extremely regularly. Set specific blocks of time to check emails and respond to messages, rather than constantly monitoring them, to minimize distractions and maintain focused, productive work periods.

5. Regularly Review and Adjust The Plan

Periodically assess your digital workspace routine to ensure they remain aligned with your minimalist goals. Then, make adjustments as needed.

Benefits of the Digital Minimalist Work-Culture

Increasing Productivity – The ironic thing with digital minimalism is that, instead of not getting work done as quickly, the opposite happens: you become far more productive. For example, instead of switching between tools like Figma, Adobe Illustrator, Sketch, Inkscape, or CorelDRAW for design work, choosing just one allows you to streamline your workflow and build deeper expertise in that tool.

Better Time Management –Many professionals don’t realize how much time is lost to low-value digital habits like doomscrolling and constant notification checks; adopting digital minimalism helps redirect that time toward more meaningful, high-priority work.

Enhancing Decision-Making: With fewer distractions and clearer priorities, making decisions becomes easier and more focused. Minimalism helps you filter out noise and choose what truly aligns with your goals.

Reducing Stress: A crowded workspace and packed schedule can increase stress and anxiety. Embracing minimalist principles creates a more organized, calm environment, which can boost focus, creativity, and overall job satisfaction.

Promoting Mindfulness: Lastly, minimalism encourages intentionality in your actions. By staying present and being deliberate about how you work, you can cultivate a stronger sense of purpose and fulfillment

The gig and side hustle economy has reshaped the labor market. Trends in employment all highlight a shift from the traditional one-to-two income household to workers juggling multiple streams of income to stay financially afloat in a challenging economy. 8.9 million Americans now hold multiple jobs, the highest ever since the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics started tracking this trend in 1994. It’s no surprise that second jobs and side hustles have grown in popularity and in demand as a flexible way to make ends meet. Although the job market has changed and increased the ability to earn more money, tax obligations have not. All income still needs to be reported to the IRS each year during tax season.

Understanding taxes on its own can be overwhelming and opaque. When filing and reporting supplemental income, the math behind paying taxes from a side gig or freelance work can be even less transparent and more shocking.

If you have a side hustle, don’t forget to manage your tax obligations this season. Avoid costly mistakes with strategies on how best to manage the tax liability on your additional income.

Here’s What To Know

Income from side jobs like delivery driving, contract work, freelance gigs, and selling goods and services typically does not withhold federal or state income taxes. Gig workers are considered independent contractors, responsible for paying their own taxes, unlike employees, whose tax withholdings are automatically withdrawn out of each paycheck.

According to the IRS, if you make more than $600 from goods and services outside of a conventional W-2 job, it must be reported on your tax returns. Be on the lookout for a 1099-K or 1099-NEC form from any businesses or services you’ve received income from to report on your personal taxes. Once you’re ready to file your personal taxes, additional income should be reported along with your employment tax documents, where your estimated tax payment on your profits will be determined.

Make sure to consult a Certified Professional Accountant or tax preparer regarding your specific tax situation on how best to navigate filing your additional income this tax season.

Keep Track Of Your Expenses For Possible Tax Deductions

Good recordkeeping is essential to a good tax strategy for your side hustle. Tracking out-of-pocket expenses and costs related to your side job will benefit you when filing during tax season.

Business losses and expenses help lower your taxable income and can be used as itemized deductions. Expenses incurred and equipment needed to carry out your side gig should be reported on your personal taxes to offset your tax liability. Ordinary and necessary business expenses can include home office or vehicle use by mileage, equipment and other costs associated with the job. Having a good record-keeping strategy for these expenses will help you be better prepared for filing your taxes.

A separate bank account for your side hustle keeps personal and business expenses separate and helps track costs to report these deductions in your tax filings. Keep physical and digital receipts of business-related expenses like supplies, home utility costs like your internet bill if your side job requires you to work from home and mileage and travel costs. Detailed records of your out-of-pocket costs related to your side job will make filing your personal taxes more efficient and lowers what you’ll potentially owe to the IRS.

Consider Making Quarterly Tax Payments

If you are expecting a sizable revenue stream with your side gig, consider paying your taxes in advance throughout the year to avoid a large bill to the IRS during tax season. When making quarterly payments to the IRS, you are manually withholding earned wages to proactively pay taxes on that income. This strategy is on a case-by-case basis, depending on whether your earnings are significant or only a few extra bucks. Quarterly tax payments help lower your liability when filing your personal taxes, as it spreads your payments over time throughout the year vs. a lump sum.

Prepare Early For Future Estimated Tax Payments

Take control of your own tax liability and set aside some of your earnings to be prepared for any estimated tax payments you may have to make come tax season. Utilize a high-yield savings account and stash away a percentage of what you make from your side gig.

If you are a contractor, self-employed, or have a side job, the general recommendation is to save around 25-30% of your income to cover your tax liability, according to the national tax services company Jackson Hewitt. This percentage is in line with what would normally come out of your paycheck for federal and state taxes and helps cover future tax payments. Every tax situation is different, however, and in some cases, saving less or more for your estimated tax bill may be ideal. A good rule of thumb is to set aside some of your income made from your side hustle, no matter how small, as taxes will always be owed on the total amount every tax season.

How To Build A Legacy Business That Outlasts The Current Hype Cycle https://heragenda.com/p/how-to-build-a-legacy-business-that-outlasts-the-current-hype-cycle/ Thu, 02 Apr 2026 16:00:00 +0000 https://heragenda.com/p/ Read More... from How To Build A Legacy Business That Outlasts The Current Hype Cycle

]]>

In March, Anifa Mvuemba, the founder of popular fashion brand Hanifa, announced she is shutting down the beloved brand, indefinitely, after 14 years.

This public announcement set the internet into a frenzy, inviting many opinions and discord. Most conversations centered around what it means to build and sustain a business that can last generations. While others shared what extending grace to Black women-owned businesses truly looks like.

Anifa’s decision and announcement made some entrepreneurs feel seen. The long nights, sacrifices, and pressure to grind to make it often feel like a heavy burden we carried all for a facade. We hear about mental health and wellness gems, but how many of us running our own business actually follow them? Anifa choosing to do what’s best for her, her family, and her brand was radical in the most admirable way.

This moment also stirred up the realistic and reflective question: In 2026, what does it take to truly build a legacy business?

While talking about this with Gabrielle Wyatt, the founder of Meet Me At The Highland whose work and research is deeply rooted in legacy, rest and women leaders, she challenged this question further stating, “Black women have always been builders of the long arc — creating businesses, movements, and institutions meant to carry forward long after the moment passes.” She continued, “legacy work asks a deeper question than what is trending: What am I building that will still matter when the spotlight moves on?”

For many people, launching their own business and beginning their entrepreneurship journey, is decided upon having more freedom, turning their passions into profit and building something that outlasts their lifetime. They’re not investing their time, energy and money into their business to see it dissolve within our lifetime. Today’s founders desire legacy and for their business to last generations.

Gabrielle Wyatt describes legacy as, “Legacy isn’t a destination. It’s a daily practice. It lives in the boundaries we protect, the rest we allow ourselves, and the discipline to build from intention rather than urgency. In a culture that celebrates speed and visibility, slowing down can feel countercultural. But the leaders who build what lasts understand that stillness is not the opposite of leadership — it’s what sustains it.”

Anchored in this definition of legacy, here are 5 ways today’s visionaries, leaders, and challengers can build a legacy business that outlasts:

She Builds In Purpose

Your “why” is your North Star when you launch your business. It sustains your business too. Your “why” is found in your mission and vision statement. It’s what differentiates you from other businesses in your industry. It’s what your customers and clients connect to when they choose to do business with you. Remain deeply rooted in your “Why” for starting your business. No matter how many years you’ve had your business, whether you’re just starting or it’s been over a decade, you will continue to communicate to others your “why”. Your purpose will outlast any hype cycle, social media trend, or economic downturn happening in the world. When you build your business in purpose, it’s promised to last.

She Builds In Rest

Who said you must neglect your sleep, your leisure time and restful moments for this business to last? For you to be here to continue building the business, rest is required. To build a legacy business, restorative moments can no longer be optional.

“If you want to build something that lasts, rest is not optional. It is essential. Legacy organizations are built through sustained vision, and you cannot lead that kind of work while running on empty. In a culture that glorifies speed, the leaders who build what endures understand that stillness is not a pause from the work — it is what sustains it.”, said Gabrielle.

She Builds In Honesty

Building a business that lasts requires being honest with yourself and others. Entrepreneurship will test your faith and reflect the areas within you that need inner work. Being honest first with yourself about your journey and where you can use the extra support can help you grow and sustain the business. Operating your business in integrity will build a trusted and reputable brand your clients confidently rely on. She challenges the status quo and does what feels genuine to herself. Charging what her skills are worth because that includes being honest with herself and the transformation she can bring to her clients’ life.

She Builds In Wisdom

Trends come and go, but a business that outlasts the current hype circle is possible when building in wisdom. You’re not stuck in your ways thinking “But this is how it’s always been done.” She seeks knowledge and applies it with understanding. She knows where to locate information, upskill and can predict industry trends. She listens to what clients are trusting her to provide that can fulfill their needs. Asking questions, and staying curious and current about the times is her superpower. She makes wise decisions that impact the business today and in the future.

She Builds In Community

Building a business that lasts requires a solid community. This looks like supporting other women on their journey, finding time to pour into her friends and family, and building with others and sharing resources. Receiving mentorship and providing mentorship are key parts of the strategy. She knows visibility and showing up are crucial; people need to know you exist and that you are ready to serve them. She finds spaces that align with her values where she can show up, be herself with others, and embrace what makes others unique. Knowing who, how, and when to ask for help is important for a leader who is building a business that lasts.

Building a legacy business has been done gracefully and successfully before by our ancestors. Let that be a reminder that you can do it too.

Here at Her Agenda, we celebrate and support the ambitious woman. But our ambitions wouldn’t be possible without the incredible women who have come before us.

This Women’s History Month, we’re highlighting trailblazers who have paved the path forward, allowing us to dream bigger and bolder.

1. Sojourner Truth

Although she was born enslaved to the name Isabella Bomfree in 1797, Sojourner Truth rose to be a fierce abolitionist and women’s rights activist. After experiencing a tumultuous youth, being enslaved, she eventually escaped in 1826 with her infant daughter, forcing her to leave her other children behind. Truth later sued for her five-year-old son’s freedom and won. Making her the first Black woman in US history to sue a white man and win. She continued this advocacy, eventually giving her famous “Ain’t I a Woman?” speech in 1851 that spoke about the exclusion of Black women in women’s rights spaces.

2. Ida B. Wells

Ida B. Wells was a pioneering journalist known for her work against lynching. Despite how difficult it was for women in the workplace at the time, she rose through the ranks and became a prominent editor for publications such as Memphis’ “The Evening Star,” “Free Speech,” “Headlight,” and owner of “Conservator.” Wells also started a number of organizations for Black women’s freedom, including the Alpha Suffrage Club, the League of Colored Women, and the National Association of Colored Women. A year before her death, she became the first Black woman in Illinois to run for state senate.

3. Shirley Chisholm

Shirley Chisolm was born and raised in Barbados, eventually making her way to Brooklyn, which became her home for the duration of her life. She became a nursery school teacher, and this led her to be very involved in the community, even joining the NAACP. In 1964, she was elected to the New York state legislature and served two terms. In 1968, she became the first Black woman ever elected to Congress and served seven terms, pushing for women’s rights, children, and education. In 1972, she also became the first Black woman to run for president and is known for her slogan “Unbought and Unbossed.”

4. Addie Wyatt

Addie Wyatt was born in Mississippi, but she became a Chicagoan when her family moved during the great depression. She found work at a local factory applying to be a typist, but was denied and offered a position canning food because of segregation. After becoming outspoken at her job, she eventually became president of her local United Packinghouse Workers of America chapter, making her the first woman to do so. She eventually started working for the UPWA and helped to fight for equal pay for workers of all races and genders. She continued this work by eventually founding the Coalition of Labor Union Women and the National Organization for Women. In 1975, alongside Representative Barbara Jordan, they became the first two Black women to be named Time Magazine’s woman of the year.

5. Kimberlé Crenshaw

Kimberlè Crenshaw began her career as a law professor at UCLA not long after graduating from Harvard Law School. Her work has helped form legal frameworks, including critical race theory. She also created the term “intersectionality,” referring to multiple prejudices happening simultaneously. Both of these ideas have helped shape programs and policies that have helped form more inclusive workplaces for women. She founded the African American Policy Forum, an organization dedicated to efforts that help to eradicate structural inequalities. In 2014, AAPF created #sayhername to lift the stories of black women killed by the police.

For decades, the “power list” has served as the professional world’s most coveted shorthand for success. However, as the global economy undergoes a major shift, the traditional recognitions of achievement are changing.

Today, leadership is no longer defined solely by tenure or title, but rather by the audacity to build in the face of uncertainty. At Her Agenda, we recognize that modern women are moving beyond the era of seeking permission. They are designing their own frameworks, funding their own visions, and, quite literally, designing their own paths.

To honor this evolution, we are proud to announce the call for nominations for our inaugural list of The Groundbreakers. Her Agenda will celebrate 50 women who are transforming their fields and shaping the infrastructure of tomorrow.

Being recognized on a curated list is more than a fleeting moment of prestige. We are documenting shifts in those making economic and professional moves. Research shows that visibility is an important tool for women in business.

According to the 2025 Women in the Workplace report by McKinsey & Co. and LeanIn.Org, women continue to face the “broken rung,” where for every 100 men promoted to manager, only 87 women (and only 81 women of color) make that first step up. Inclusion in a high-profile list helps repair this rung by providing the external visibility and third-party validation necessary to attract sponsorship, venture capital, and board seat invitations. By highlighting these 50 leaders, we are creating a platform for their personal brands, ensuring their impact is seen by the decision-makers who shape the global economy.

Defining The Groundbreakers

A Groundbreaker is a woman who sees a void and treats it as a blueprint. Our 2026 index will focus on five distinct pillars of impact:

 • The Ambitious: Rising stars who are fueled by vision and drive. These women are early in their journey but already demonstrating bold action, focus, and promise.
 • The Agenda Setters: Cultural visionaries and media influencers shaping conversations across entertainment, fashion, art, and digital platforms.
 • The Achievers: Proven leaders with track records of exceptional business results, organizational impact, and measurable success in their industries.
 • The Advocates: Changemakers in nonprofit leadership, caregiving, social justice, and community building – perfect for purpose-driven brand alignment.
 • The Architects: System builders and infrastructure creators whose work enables others to rise. These women design the frameworks, institutions, and foundations that transform entire fields-their innovations outlast trends and shape what comes next.

We invite you to help us find the women who are challenging norms and redefining the very nature of success. Whether they are building the tech of the future or the social justice frameworks of today, we want to hear their stories.

Nominations for the inaugural Groundbreakers are now open! Applications close on July 18, 2026.

The hardest part about building a website isn’t building it, but rather starting it. Women when it comes to our businesses, new entrepreneurs can passionately talk about our ideas endlessly. We are excited to share our visions for our website design with like-minded people. But when it’s time to start it, it’s easy to overthink the process. That overthinking then turns into procrastination.

Do you find yourself asking any of the following?:

 • How many pages do I need?
 • Do I let my content fill the entire webpage?
 • How should I evenly rotate my brand colors throughout my site?
 • Is this webpage crowded with too much?

It quickly becomes more questions than answers. The lack of a clear starting point keeps many concepts stuck offline instead of turning it into an amazing website.

Squarespace Blueprint AI Turns Your Vision Into Reality

Squarespace’s newest feature, Blueprint AI alleviates that rabbit hole of being stuck with a half-designed website. It’s the ideal program for anyone who has the motivation but is lacking the discipline to start. And it is okay to not have that discipline. Blueprint AI takes that load off your shoulders, and carries you along with them.

Blueprint AI starts as a five-step interactive guiding session. AI has become a big power tool. But Squarespace has designed this program to make sure you’re not starting from scratch. You will first be approached with some prompting questions. These questions are intentionally asked to get an understanding of your brand and what you want in your website.

Design Guidance Without Losing Creative Control

Now just because you’re telling Blueprint your ideas, does not mean Blueprint AI will take it and run with it. The greatest factor about this feature is that everything is a draft until you finalize it. Based on how you answer the prompted questions, it creates a first draft so you can get a sense of what your website will look like. But you’re not tied down to that draft. You still have creative control.

From the layouts, fonts to brand color combinations, you have the final choice in how it looks.

The process is meant to feel like a collaborative experience. And it doesn’t stop with the reveal of a first draft. You’re able to swap out and personalize everything on your site. And all it takes is just a few clicks. And you can watch these changes be updated within minutes.

Moving Out Of Draft Mode

It’s clear that creativity is not the struggle for most first-time website builders. It’s where to start and have structure with that creativity for their brand. With the Squarespace Blueprint AI feature that no longer becomes a problem. The purpose is meant to make the building of your brand or business become more efficient.

Whether your business is in photography, real estate, ecommerce, Blueprint AI tailors your website to your ideas and mixes it with key components from your desired industry. Even if you second guess your choices, this program will adjust to present the best personalized website.

The great thing about this feature is that you’re not locked into it. You are offered a 14 day free trial, but need to have a paid Squarespace account to publish your site. Blueprint AI is a great starting point for people who are indecisive or have no coding experience. It takes the stress away. Something that could take you hours, days, or weeks, can now take just minutes.

Choosing The Right Website Platform For Where You Are Right Now https://heragenda.com/p/choosing-the-right-website-platform-for-where-you-are-right-now/ Mon, 30 Mar 2026 16:00:00 +0000 https://heragenda.com/p/ Read More... from Choosing The Right Website Platform For Where You Are Right Now

When you’re in the planning stages of building a brand or expanding a brand, two things can be true at once. You are excited for the next step, but then can become overwhelmed quickly. Excitement spreads when you’re gathering all of your ideas and consulting friends and mentors on the right concept. But then comes time to execute afterwards. And usually that execution starts with building your website. This is the part where women can become overwhelmed.

According to a Clutch survey, “83% of small businesses now have a website, up from 64% in 2018.” And choosing the right platform is a decision that can be a lot. There are so many options to choose from. And so much you have to consider. As well as what features actually fit best for what you’re doing. The truth is, there isn’t one “best” website platform. There’s just the right one for where you are right now.

Personal Brands And Early Stage Businesses

If you’re a woman who just started a business or has a personal brand, the main focus is letting people know who you are. People need to know what they would be seeking from you. If you align with what they’re looking for. And where they can seek your services or products. That is what your website is designed for.

Typically most new brands and businesses are looking to save costs. And that usually results in a business owner creating their own website. Here are some things to consider for your website. When looking for a website platform, view plans that work for your budget. Most websites offer a monthly or annual payment option. And they also offer free trials, if you’re just experimenting and trying things out.

A few platforms that work well for women in this stage are:

It’s not necessarily the creative ideas that are causing the challenges, it’s the structure.

Scaling Businesses

A recent Adobe survey conducted that “53% of small business owners are planning to revamp their websites.”

After you’ve had your business for a while, it’s time to scale. And that also includes your website. That’s where structure and creativity merges. Your brand or business might be outgrowing the systems in place such as email marketing, website customization needs to change, or you’re gaining more website traffic than your platform can keep up with.

Women business owners go from beginner to intermediate when it comes to scaling their platforms. But the key is to find a platform that doesn’t make you have to switch platforms every year. That’s why most website platforms have incorporated CMS systems

A few platforms that work well for women in this stage are:

You’re still able to balance the growth of your business with one platform as you continue to evolve.

Where Squarespace and Squarespace Blueprint AI Fit In

No matter what stage you’re in while building your website, there are some key things many women business owners want. They want guidance because “15% of small businesses feel they lack the technical skills to build or run a website themselves.” This is where the website platform Squarespace comes into play. Squarespace is the platform that meets you in the middle.

They offer a new Blueprint AI feature that helps women stop staring at a blank screen for hours. It gives you a five step, interactive session that simplifies website customization. It takes the stress away from women who might not be great with technology.

You can add in your ideas from when you were planning your website. Then it’ll take your ideas and create a framework you can start with. There’s no pressure for the final product to be done in one sitting. You’re able to make modifications where you see fit. And you don’t have to worry about the technical terms of grid layouts, margins, custom coding, HTML embedding and more.

Q2 has quietly snuck up on us. The pressure is kicking in for business owners. But don’t let where you host your website be one of the things that make you procrastinate any longer.

For first-time founders, choosing the right website platform can mean the difference between a fast, professional launch and costly delays. Website builders are no longer just publishing tools, as they’re evolving into a business infrastructure that shapes growth.

In fact, 45% of small businesses use platforms like Wix, Squarespace, and WordPress for their ease of launch and all-in-one functionality, according to Zipdo. In 2026, the ideal platform balances speed, scalability, and aesthetics, letting entrepreneurs launch quickly, manage efficiently, and scale with ease.

For those looking to build their next website, three platforms consistently stand out: Squarespace, WordPress, and Webflow.

Here’s how they compare across key factors, including ease of use, integrated features, overall costs, and more.

Ease Of Site Launch

Squarespace: This platform is designed for speed. Its drag-and-drop editor and prebuilt designer templates let founders get a professional-looking site online within hours. No technical skills are required, making it ideal for entrepreneurs who want to focus on business, not coding.

They’ve also recently introduced Blueprint AI. It’s a guided design system that enables users to construct fully customised websites through a streamlined five-step process.

WordPress: This option offers more flexibility but comes with a steeper learning curve. While WordPress.com simplifies setup, self-hosted WordPress.org requires domain setup, hosting configuration, and plugin selection. Launching quickly may require some technical know-how before starting.

Webflow: This strikes a balance between design freedom and speed. Its visual editor allows drag-and-drop site building, but unlike Squarespace, there’s more customization potential. However, beginners may need a short learning period to fully leverage its capabilities.

Maintenance and Updates

Squarespace: Maintenance is mostly hands-off. Squarespace handles updates, security patches, and hosting, freeing founders from technical upkeep. This makes it attractive for busy entrepreneurs who prefer focusing on content and marketing.

WordPress: Maintenance is a larger responsibility for this platform. Founders must manage updates for WordPress core, themes, and plugins. Security requires attention, and hosting choices affect site speed and reliability. This platform works well for founders willing to invest time or hire support.

Webflow: This platform offers automatic updates and reliable hosting. While more complex than Squarespace, Webflow reduces maintenance headaches compared to WordPress. Its CMS and design tools are integrated, so founders can update content and layouts without touching code.

Cost Transparency

Squarespace: A predictable pricing plan is offered, ranging from $16 to $49 per month. All-in-one packages include hosting, SSL certificates, and support. The transparent costs make budgeting straightforward for first-time founders.

WordPress: While WordPress can be inexpensive upfront, its costs vary widely depending on hosting, premium themes, and plugins. The software itself may be free, but ongoing expenses can escalate unexpectedly if advanced functionality is required.

Webflow: This platform’s pricing starts at $14 per month for basic sites and scales with CMS and business features. Its pricing is more transparent than a self-hosted WordPress setup, though advanced features may increase monthly costs.

Integrated Tools And Features

Squarespace: This platform shines with built-in features such as email campaigns, analytics, and e-commerce tools. Entrepreneurs can manage most aspects of their site without third-party integrations, reducing complexity.

Long associated with sleek, design-led templates and tools that allow users to build professional sites without coding knowledge, the company now expands its offering with a feature that promises more than 1.4 billion possible design combinations, all without requiring users to start from a blank canvas.

WordPress: On the other hand, WordPress excels in flexibility and extensibility. Nearly tens of thousands of plugins are available for SEO, e-commerce, analytics, and more. While powerful, integrating and maintaining these tools may require technical skills.

Webflow: Webflow offers a diverse CMS, SEO controls, and e-commerce functionality. Its visual design tools and integrations allow more control over custom interactions and animations, giving founders professional-level features without extensive coding.

The Bottom Line

For first-time founders in 2026, Squarespace may be ideal for speed and simplicity, WordPress is best for full customization and extensibility, and Webflow offers a middle ground with advanced design freedom and integrated tools. Choosing the right platform depends on your priorities, such as launch timeline, scalability, or ultimate flexibility.

The True Cost Of Living A Soft Life On A Hard Budget https://heragenda.com/p/the-true-cost-of-living-a-soft-life-on-a-hard-budget/ Thu, 26 Mar 2026 12:00:00 +0000 https://heragenda.com/p/ Read More... from The True Cost Of Living A Soft Life On A Hard Budget

In a perfect world, we’d all like to wake up at noon, go have brunch, shop after, squeeze in a nap, and go wherever the wind blows afterward. Unfortunately, we don’t all have such luxuries. Present-day, the “soft life” social media trend has evolved into what some may call a facade, as what people choose to post online can be fabrications of their reality.

Let’s explore the true cost of living, said “soft life” while on a tight (realistic) budget, and see if it is financially possible. How soft can one’s life truly be in the real world?

What Exactly Is A ‘Soft Life?’

According to Dictionary.com, it’s a lifestyle of comfort and relaxation with minimal challenges or stress. Some people use the term in reference to a life that involves (and is a product of) wealth and luxury, while others interpret it as simply being a simplified life unburdened from stress and responsibilities.

Oftentimes, a soft life is glorified as a life of ease, focusing less on working and paying bills, but instead enjoying nature, prioritizing hobbies, and pampering; all of the things that aren’t regular activities that the average person with a full-time job can do at any time are considered soft. Soft is life without stress.

How Does It Feed Into Consumerism

Consumerism comes into play with the unlimited amount of products, places, activities, and more that can equate to a soft life. There’s an abundance of opportunity to tag, link, highlight, and create content online with brand deals, influencers, and the like to persuade people to purchase certain things to experience the ultimate effects of living a slower, more peaceful life.

Science of Retail adds that home cooking has moved beyond the utilitarian. Sourdough starters, small-batch pasta, and slow-roasted vegetables now fill social feeds. Activities that emphasize repetition, presence, and tactility (e.g., knitting, puzzles, journaling, gardening) have surged in popularity. Pilates has reemerged as a favored form of movement. It is praised for its focus on alignment, control, and low-impact strength. Even cleaning has been reimagined as a soothing ritual, with content creators dedicating entire channels to gentle restocks and reset routines.

A Soft Life Can Hit Hard Financially… Without A Plan

According to Mindy Smoak of Her Agenda, a soft life is financially attainable as long as you are willing to be wise and create a plan. When making decisions about how to live a soft life, think about this advice from Denee Tamia, a TikTok content creator and advocate of soft living, and add how to budget for it to your priorities.

If you have a tight budget, fixed income, or your hands are tied, planning is the best way to use your money wisely. Seeing your finances on paper can make all the difference. Write out your income(s), bills, expenses, necessities, and things you can do without, and a soft life may be feasible for you.

Is A Soft Life Self-Care On Steroids?

A soft life is often noted as a more boundary-filled, elevated, and intentional form of self-care. The major difference is that self-care isn’t as frequent as opposed to a soft life. For example, a person may get a massage for their birthday annually as self-care, while another person may get a massage every month, living a soft life.

People like to look at a soft life as freedom, free will, and fearlessness. It is a gamble, yet the intent is to recalibrate the system of life and reimagine it in a way that is beneficial to you. Instead of prioritizing and dedicating your life to work, stressing over bills, and living paycheck to paycheck, a soft life challenges you to prioritize yourself and the happiness you feel you deserve.

It’s 11 p.m. on a Tuesday and after doomscrolling for a couple of hours, you realize you finally have an answer to that question. The answer is you and your business idea. At this moment, the time to act is now before overthinking gets in your way. You’re excited and you’re ready to launch sooner rather than later. But then you remember the part you absolutely hate: building a website.

For many entrepreneurs, templated website builders have made life so much easier. But the ease of those websites also provided a “sea of sameness.” Everywhere you look you can name the template because it has the same layout, same buttons, same stock images, same about us page, recycled again and again.

With this business idea, you know you need to be different. You also know you don’t have the patience for a blank canvas tonight. Lucky for you, you don’t have to with Squarespace.

Enter Squarespace Blueprint AI.

The same platform known for quality website design has a new approach to bring ease to launching a website utilizing artificial intelligence, also known as AI. Squarespace Blueprint AI takes a conversational and personalized approach to starting the design process instead of simply assuming what you want. Blueprint AI is trained on Squarespace’s design expertise, generating sites that are fully customizable within the powerful, flexible Fluid Engine editor.

It starts with asking you questions like what is your site about? What are your goals? What kind of brand personality do you want to project? Then you get to select everything that comes with it including color palettes, font appearance, the tone for your copy, even suggested imagery.

What you end up with is something just as unique as your business idea with over 1.4 billion unique design combinations that have been pre-vetted by the Squarespace design team, meaning you get an elevated, launch-ready foundation, meaning fewer time-consuming revisions later. Moreover, with Squarespace, you get to see a live preview every step of the way. Squarespace Blueprint isn’t designing for you, it’s designing with you.
What sets Squarespace Blueprint AI apart from the rest, was shared by the company’s chief product officer when Blueprint was named one of TIME’s Best Inventions of 2025, “We wanted to make sure the user felt AI was enhancing their story, but wasn’t taking over for them.” At its core, support and enhancement are key to the user experience.

There are plenty of tools on the market designed to get you from point A to a published website in record time. But what many of them fail to realize is that every person coming to their platform is someone with a vision. Most with a voice who knows exactly what they want and what they don’t want but they just aren’t quite sure how to execute it. Because of that Squarespace has found its lane.

Squarespace Blueprint is simply here to make things easier for you, so that the gap between saying “I have an idea” and presenting that idea to the public becomes frictionless and still visually powerful. When you jump back in bed at 1 AM you can be rest assured knowing that you are ready to share your business idea with the public.

Ready to see what Squarespace Blueprint AI can do for you? Get started with a free trial, then use code HERAGENDA10 for 10% off a new Squarespace plan.

How Women Founders Are Navigating Growth Without The DEI Safety Net https://heragenda.com/p/how-women-founders-are-navigating-growth-without-the-dei-safety-net/ Tue, 24 Mar 2026 16:00:00 +0000 https://heragenda.com/p/ Read More... from How Women Founders Are Navigating Growth Without The DEI Safety Net

]]>

Over the years, DEI has become a helpful tool for women entrepreneurs. It allowed for branded issued statements, launched initiatives, and promised more opportunities for founders who had long been overlooked. Last year’s pull of DEI programs under Trump’s leadership made the commitments expected, adding another layer to an already difficult task for women business owners.

For Be Rooted Founder Jasmin Foster, navigating the retail space started way long before this “safety net.” She’s intentionally made choices from the beginning that honor growth without compromise. Through Jasmin’s lens, she shares how community, values, and smarter growth allow for great adaptation, especially as traditional retail pathways become more restrictive.

Source: Jasmin Foster

Her Agenda: With DEI commitments quietly disappearing across retail, what’s the biggest shift you had to make as a founder once you realized the “safety net” was gone?

Jasmin Foster: I don’t know if we really ever had a safety net. I think that while DEI programs were incredibly important, and are incredibly important for brands to be discovered, and for them to have a strategic position within retailers across the board. It never was a guarantee that we were going to have shelf space, it was never a guarantee that once we got shelf space, that we were going to keep shelf space.

As a business owner [I] double down on all of the things that continue to matter to our customers, which is providing products that make them feel seen, help them go after their goals and increase their productivity. And how do we continue to do an even better job at communicating how we do that every day to them. Yes, it’s very disappointing to see the country kind of take a shift in their stance around DEI, [but] it’s never been a guarantee for our people.

Her Agenda: Instead of chasing scale at all costs, you leaned harder into community and DTC. What did that look like in practice, and why did that approach feel more sustainable right now?

Jasmin Foster: I know that particularly for products like these, whether they’re going to be someone’s school supplies [or] someone’s monthly journal, it needed to be affordable. I never wanted to build a brand that was aspirational luxury. I wanted to build a brand that was attainable and relatable to my customer and meet them where they’re at, and so that requires me to be at a price point that is attainable for as many people as possible.

Now, when you talk about scalability, there is a lot of room for us to continue to scale. As a small brand, while it may feel big because we are in retail, there’s still so many people that do not know us yet, and so I love going to trade shows and to events because I get to connect with my customer base there. But I also get to meet so many new people that we’re introducing Be Rooted to for the first time. So from a scaling standpoint, there’s so much opportunity for us to continue to penetrate the household of the multicultural consumer within the United States and even abroad. [With] the choices that we have made from a design perspective, it’s been incredibly important for me to stay true to our mission.

In the beginning, I’ve always wanted to make a brand that reflected the community that I lived in and reflect the young girls that I know like myself growing up who didn’t see imagery that looked like me. black art is something that is often seen as not mainstream enough or too niche, so it was important for me to be able to put black art forward, and while that may feel like it is limiting to some, to me, it’s just being really clear about who we serve and continuing to double down on our mission.

Source: Jasmin Foster

Her Agenda: I love that. I have a piggyback question off that because you’re learning a lot of stuff along your journey. Is there any belief or strategy that you had to unlearn in order to grow smarter within your journey so far?

Jasmin Foster: On a monthly [and] weekly basis, I’m learning and unlearning something. But over the last year or two, [it] has really been clear to me about defining what does success mean? on my own terms. I think that you oftentimes see people post about what feels like their overnight success, or people chasing kind of like unicorn acquisitions, and those are amazing, and wonderful goals for those who have them.

Her Agenda: During a year when many brands pulled back, Be Rooted still grew DTC by over 30%. What did customers respond to emotionally that numbers alone can’t explain?

Jasmin Foster: We [were] dealing with a macroeconomic climate that was putting a lot of economic pressure on our customers’ wallet. So us as business owners are not just navigating one thing. And so for me, there were a couple of things I think allowed my customers to continue to connect with us. one, maintaining an affordable price point, even while dealing with economic pressure with the tariffs happening, which meant relooking financially at how we structured the company to be able to absorb that cost.

Secondly, it was giving them something new and exciting to come back to the website for. Normally during the holiday time, we do a completely new collection. But because of all that was going on, we actually decided to delay that collection. Instead of doing this huge drop, what we did was collaborate with other Black-owned businesses and create small batch newness that got our customers excited. like our collaboration with Pretty Honest Shop on a candle collection specifically for holiday and our collaboration with the Joran Tea House with our first Be Rooted relaxing tea, which was an item that ended up taking off last year. But giving them something fun to talk about.

The last thing that I would say is really doubling down on acquiring new customers. there were so many people that were in discovery mode last year. And there were also so many people that were looking to shift their dollars to e-commerce. And so we needed to meet people where they were and ensure that from our marketing efforts, it was a lot about new customer acquisition more than probably any other year.

Her Agenda: For founders who don’t have corporate retail experience like you did, what’s one mindset shift they need to make as traditional retail becomes more restrictive?

Jasmin Foster: I don’t know if it’s a mindset shift, but I think my piece of advice would be that we should all be building businesses that can be retail ready and e-commerce friendly. There are still partners out there that you can align with. And like always, we should be courting and dating our partners. With any retail partnership every year, you should be evaluating their messaging, their core values, their beliefs, how they’re treating you, and decide whether or not you want to do business with them. And I think that that message hasn’t changed.

Truthfully, the metrics that you need for e-commerce and for retail are often different. So that can be hard. But I think with any brand that is either trying to get their foot off the ground, it’s making sure that you also focus just as much time on e-commerce as you are doing your retail objectives.

It’s really interesting, because maybe about a decade ago, everyone was looking for only e-commerce first businesses, like those were the shiny stars, and the big kind of VC checks were the people that were winning on DTC, [thinking they] may be able to translate into retail. Then about five years, the shift went from brands that were retail friendly. And it didn’t really matter if you had a DTC. And so I think now, it’s important to just make sure that you have your foot on the gas on both of them, because the ties turn really quickly, and you want to be able to move with them based off of how things are changing.

Why We Are Trading Perfectionism For Professional Peace Of Mind https://heragenda.com/p/trading-perfectionism-for-professional-peace-of-mind/ Tue, 24 Mar 2026 12:00:00 +0000 https://heragenda.com/p/ Read More... from Why We Are Trading Perfectionism For Professional Peace Of Mind

]]>

As children, we’re taught early that “practice makes perfect.” Enter the birth of perfectionism. Perfectionism is a never-ending pursuit to appear flawless, always on-target, focused, and above the curve, and a high-standard goal setter.

While this may appear to be ideal on paper, it creates an unrealistic expectation. Striving to be perfect is impossible, so when that feat is seldom reached, all of that hard work feels like nothing. Inevitably this behavior often leads to anxiety, depression, eating disorders, and burnout.

Present day, the standard is no longer perfection, rather peace of mind. Her Agenda has gathered the evidence to tell you why and how it works better than the past.

Source: Pexels

How Perfectionism Is Damaging Careers And Lives

According to Ryan Farsai of Forbes, perfectionism among young adults has surged 33% over three decades, driven by mounting social pressure to perform flawlessly. The trend continues to accelerate, with today’s students reporting even higher levels. We’re training people to optimize for grades that don’t exist, then dropping them into workplaces where speed beats polish every time.

Companies are always vetting for the newest, the fastest, and the vulnerable to make them more money. Meanwhile, a person straight out of college is looking for an opportunity, and once presented, will gladly take it, no matter the salary. However, the stress of working like a machine is unrealistic, but the demands are high. Perfectionism controls many jobs, and makes a person feel worthless when they don’t hit targets, deadlines, and quotas.

How Professional Peace Of Mind Took That Power Back

Government Leadership Solutions (GLS) states, to find peace amidst the hustle and bustle of the workplace, we can start by setting boundaries. Define your limits and learn to say no when necessary. Prioritize tasks, and don’t over-commit yourself. This not only reduces stress but also allows you to focus better on your work.

Additionally, GLS believes that effective communication is another key to workplace peace. Misunderstandings and conflicts often arise from miscommunication. Being a good listener, expressing your thoughts clearly, and seeking to understand your colleagues can go a long way in promoting harmony at work.

Source: Pexels

Knowing When To Say ‘Enough Is Enough’

Ultimately, the line between perfectionism and professional peace of mind is drawn by you. You decide how much you can take on, you voice when you need a break, and you set the boundaries that allow you to perform at your highest capacity in a healthy manner.

Knowing when to say you’re overwhelmed, overworked, and over it. Don’t over commit when your plate is already full; if you’re aiming for a higher position at the job you won’t make it if you’re in the hospital due to not taking care of yourself.

Key Takeaways

Striving for perfectionism will only lead to a path of destruction. Practice doesn’t make perfect because perfect doesn’t exist. Furthermore, perfectionism is a downhill battle of sacrifice on your behalf to appear flawless and on-target at all times, and when you’re not, everything is wrong.

Perfectionism has damaged careers and lives due to stress and demand. Many mental illnesses have occurred such as anxiety, depression, eating disorders, and burnout.

Setting boundaries, communicating effectively when you are overwhelmed, overworked is essential. It is also imperative not to over commit at work while ignoring your health. Take care of yourself.

Lastly, peace is what you make it; and peace is what brings you happiness. You can find peace at work by creating a space that is comfortable, quiet, and serene. It doesn’t take much to build your professional space.

Why System Design Is Replacing Financial Discipline In The Age Of Automation https://heragenda.com/p/why-system-design-is-replacing-financial-discipline-in-the-age-of-automation/ Mon, 23 Mar 2026 12:00:00 +0000 https://heragenda.com/p/ Read More... from Why System Design Is Replacing Financial Discipline In The Age Of Automation

]]>

Automation can reshape how finances are managed. For decades, personal finance advice emphasized behavioral habits such as budgeting carefully, resisting impulse purchases, and remembering to save consistently. Today, however, financial technology platforms increasingly automate these processes, allowing money management to operate in the background with minimal manual intervention.

According to McKinsey & Company, digital financial tools and automated payment systems have expanded significantly, enabling the ability to automate tasks such as savings transfers, investment contributions, and bill payments. As automation becomes more embedded in everyday banking and investing, financial outcomes are shifting from daily discipline to the design of the financial systems people put in place.

How Automation Changes The Nature Of Financial Discipline

SOURCE: PEXELS

Financial discipline historically depended on consistent behavior. Many needed to actively budget, monitor spending, and manually allocate money to savings or investment accounts. Maintaining these habits required continuous attention and willpower.

Automation is changing this dynamic. According to Wonder Post Finance, modern financial platforms allow users to schedule recurring transfers, automate bill payments, and automatically invest portions of their income. Once these systems are established, they continue operating without requiring repeated decision-making.

This shift means that financial success increasingly depends on the structure of the system rather than moment-to-moment choices, according to Finverium. Instead of deciding each month whether to save or invest, users configure automated processes that execute those decisions consistently over time.

Automated Investing Removes Behavioral Bias

Many investment platforms allow users to set up recurring deposits that are invested into diversified portfolios on a fixed schedule. Platforms such as Vanguard and Betterment have popularized automatic investment contributions, allowing investors to follow disciplined strategies without having to actively monitor market conditions.

Automation can also reduce common behavioral mistakes. Research from DALBAR says the average investor underperforms market benchmarks due to poorly timed buying and selling decisions driven by emotional reactions to market volatility. Automated investing strategies help address this problem by reducing the number of decisions investors make during market fluctuations.

By limiting opportunities for emotional decision-making, automated systems encourage long-term investment consistency.

Automated Savings Systems Increase Financial Stability

SOURCE: PEXELS

Automation is also transforming how households build savings. Many banks and financial apps now allow users to automatically transfer funds into savings accounts or emergency funds at regular intervals.

According to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, automated savings tools significantly increase the likelihood that households maintain emergency funds because deposits occur automatically rather than requiring repeated behavioral effort.

For example, a system might automatically allocate a percentage of each paycheck to an emergency savings account before discretionary spending occurs. By structuring the system in advance, individuals effectively remove the need to decide whether to save each month.

From Behavior-Based Finance To System-Based Finance

These developments represent a broader shift from behavior-based finance to system-based finance.

In a traditional financial model, individuals needed strong discipline to maintain good financial habits. In a system-based model, financial outcomes are engineered through automated workflows.

A well-designed system might include:

 • Automatic investment contributions from each paycheck
 • Scheduled transfers into emergency savings
 • Automatic bill payments
 • Separate accounts for discretionary spending

Once these processes are configured, the system itself reinforces consistent financial behavior, according to HSBC.

Automation Is Expanding Beyond Personal Finance

Automation is not limited to household finances, either. Businesses and financial institutions are also integrating automated systems to manage financial operations.

Deloitte found that finance departments are increasingly adopting automation and artificial intelligence tools to streamline forecasting, reporting, and expense management. These technologies reduce manual administrative work and allow financial professionals to focus more on strategic planning.

As automation becomes more integrated into financial infrastructure, system design is becoming an essential skill for both individuals and organizations.

Every woman has probably at least once thought to herself, “I wonder what it’d be like with no men around?” Because the pay gap, misogyny, and downright violence can make the weight of being a woman heavy.

If you’ve thought about men leaving you alone, you’ll be happy to know that woman-centric spaces are becoming more popular. Between fitness, the arts, education, and more, women are realizing how much they need each other and are finding the capital to invest in ensuring women have safe spaces curated just for them.

Higher Education

Since the 18th century, all-women’s schools have dedicated themselves to educating women. This is special because, at the time, women’s knowledge wasn’t valued, and they were often shunned from education. Barnard, Bennett, Bryn Mawr, Scripps, Smith, Spelman, and more are institutions that have spent decades cultivating safe and enriching educational experiences for young women. Spelman College’s mission statement emphasizes the importance of these values.

“Spelman College, a historically Black college and a global leader in the education of women of African descent, is dedicated to academic excellence in the liberal arts and sciences and the intellectual, creative, ethical, and leadership development of its students.”

Fitness

In recent years, there’s been an uptick in women-only gyms. These spaces are dedicated to creating safe spaces for women to work out and feel confident without worrying about potential threats that can come from the male gaze. Femme Gym, based in NJ, says this about their purpose.

“We’re women that don’t compromise our privacy for our health. Femme is a support system that enables us to come together and share our collective experiences in pursuit of reaching the highest level of holistic wellness.”

Professional Spaces

Corporate America is a notoriously difficult place for women. Between the pay gap and harassment in the workplace, trying to get ahead can feel at times impossible. Women’s professional groups can help women connect and lift each other up. The LOLA is a women’s coworking space in Atlanta that’s dedicated to “intentional inclusion.”

“At The LOLA, we are committed to creating a human-centered community that serves all women. This commitment is reflected in our values. We strive to create a better culture and system that benefits everyone, and we believe that is achieved by better supporting the most underrepresented.”

Book Clubs

Sharing the love of literature is something that women have been doing for a long time. But some women even exclusively read women-centered stories and authors in their clubs. Well-Read Black Girl is a virtual book club founded by Glory Edim that has now expanded into other community events to bring women together. Their mission is to uplift and promote Black women writers and challenge narratives surrounding them.

“Its mission is to provoke conversations around publishing, politics, and pop culture, and to amplify new work by African-American artists, from authors to activists to playwrights to policymakers. Using literature and storytelling as a tool for advocacy, specifically in the areas of mental health and gender equity, Glory works nationally to shift the narratives of Black girls and women in society.”

Outdoors

Exploring the outdoors is something that’s been male-dominated for a very long time. Camping, hiking, and backpacking traditionally are associated with men for a number of reasons, but a big one is safety concerns. Going into the wilderness often can be dangerous for women, with hikes being a notorious place where women go missing. But women-centered outdoor spaces are changing what people know to be true about venturing outside. Women Outdoors is an East Coast-based group dedicated to getting more women to explore nature.

“We are committed to creating an inclusive organization that is welcoming, supportive, and empowering of all self-identified women across all demographic categories, experiences, abilities, and backgrounds. We are all nourished by nature.”

It’s been said that a shift in energy can change the atmosphere, and this rings true to many things and spaces. Feng Shui is a 3,000-year-old philosophy that’s primary intent is to balance the flow of energy through furniture and positioning, to establish positive mental and emotional health, as well as good fortune.

When designing a home office, it should be a place of inspiration, motivation, and excitement. An office you love to go to will certainly heighten your creativity and bring out your best work. However, if you’re not sure where to start, Her Agenda has gathered a starter pack to get your creative wheels turning.

Source: Pexels

Pick The Room With The Best Lighting

Finding the best room is the most essential element of all when it comes to designing your ideal home office. If you’re in a dark, cold basement, your creativity may not be as grand as it could be. Try finding a space that allows room to welcome the sun and offer creative freedom. Not to mention that natural lighting is healthier lighting.

According to PacLights, the correlation between lighting and productivity has been the subject of considerable research. Natural light, for instance, has been shown to boost alertness and improve mood, thereby enhancing cognitive functions. Many studies indicate that exposure to natural light helps in the regulation of circadian rhythms, which in turn can lead to better sleep and improved focus.

Let The Colors Do The Talking

Sometimes colors invite you in before a person does; Understanding the psychology of color means you know how colors create reactions. If you’re looking for a zen vibe, try blues and greens. But if you’re looking to boost those creative juices, go for more vibrant colors like reds and oranges that are energy boosters and are known to inspire and motivate.

Since this is your home office, you have free rein to experiment with furniture styles, create accent walls, find statement pieces that speak to you, and add comforting whatnots like candles, plaques, art, and endless options.

Source: Pexels

Incorporate Who You Love

What’s a workspace without the ones you love? Every artist has a muse. Do your friends and family bring out the best in you? You can make a collage, frame pictures, or get a digital photo frame of your friends and family to sit on your desk. Sometimes, having that reminder that you are loved is all you need to power on your creativity.

Although you’re already home, making a small section/space for your loved ones can spark a memory and encourage you to write a chapter for your book, create a new painting, find a new creative approach to market your product, or promote a new business venture.

Make An Affirmation Wall

Affirmations are a great way to spark creativity and boost confident and low or slow days. Every day won’t be filled with inspiration and ideas, so creating an affirmation wall will work as a reminder that you are capable when you don’t feel or believe that you are, and that you can accomplish your goals. When creating this wall, you have creative freedom to pull quotes, pictures, poems, notes, letters from friends and family supporting you, and anything positive that drives you to operate as your best self.

According to HealthyPlace, what better way to create positive images in the brain than to fill your home with positive words and images? Positivity walls are particularly effective because they help you visualize goals that are deeply personal. Over time, you will learn what words and images build you up and make you feel that you’re ready to take on the world.

Step into most offices, and the scene reflects a microcosm of today’s multigenerational society. From Big Tech to startups, today’s businesses are made up of workers ranging from the early-career Gen Zer to the seasoned Boomer professional. U.S. Department of Labor statistics show that 36% and 31% of today’s labor force are Millennial and Gen X workers, respectively. But there is no shortage of workers at the other ends of the age spectrum, with Gen Z and Baby Boomers making up over a third of the current U.S. workforce.

Because of this dynamic blend of generations now in the workforce, team interactions, individual work styles, and professional relationships can be a challenge to embrace across a multigenerational workplace, but can open the doors to more diversity, inclusion, and change. Navigating intergenerational mentorship in the workplace effectively can help improve your business, see your role with a new perspective, and bridge the gap between you and the next step of your career.

Mentorship Harnesses Collective Knowledge And New Ideas

Mentoring or being mentored by someone much more junior or senior than you can seem to magnify the age or seniority gap. But when approached in the right way, mentoring highlights different perspectives and new ideas to help shape the future of your team and business. Mentoring across age groups opens the lines of communication in a trustworthy environment. This helps reveal different viewpoints that might otherwise be biased based on the length of experience or lack thereof alone.

Looking for a new and innovative way to use AI and technology to enhance your role? A mentee or mentor in the Gen Z or Millennial age groups is best equipped to help you utilize technology to your advantage. Need guidance on navigating your industry to help unlock your career in its early stages? Establishing a mentor/mentee relationship with a seasoned Gen X or Baby Boomer professional can help provide perspective that comes with decades of experience. Your business and career can thrive from having a new and diverse outlook through intergenerational mentoring.

Mentorship Helps Reimagine Workplace Politics

A common theme that many industries share is workplace politics, a sometimes-unspoken code of ethics and guidelines that shape how professionals move and operate, and in many cases, how they position themselves for career advancement. Mentorship across age groups can be essential to shedding the barriers of workplace politics and help advance change forward.

Young professionals may benefit from a more senior professional’s mentorship through years accumulated in the workforce, helping to shape Gen Z’s approach to age-old workplace politics and etiquette, like networking and acquiring soft skill sets. Using feedback from mentorship that incorporates early-to-mid level professionals, more experienced Gen X and Baby Boomer workers, who are more likely to be in executive-level leadership roles, can use their level of seniority to reshape the workplace. Open communication and feedback in a mentoring environment that fosters transparency can help initiate change up and down the corporate ladder.

Inspire and Empower A Collaborative Workplace

Each generation has unique traits when it comes to their work styles. Baby Boomers are structured workers and appreciate clear and direct instructions and deadlines. Gen Xers are more comfortable with independent, autonomous work and prefer efficient communication to get the job done. Team collaboration and a sense of purpose drive the Millennial workforce, who value task delegation to achieve a common goal. The newest generation in the workforce, Generation Z, seeks a workplace that is diverse, prioritizes mental well-being, and values transparency.

With these distinctive work styles, intergenerational mentorship can help inspire and create a workplace that embraces these approaches and fosters more collaboration and inclusion. Bridge the gap between generations in the workplace by using mentorship to identify opportunities, like preferred communication styles, what training and career growth look like, and how to achieve it, better methods for team collaboration, and other open and transparent conversations. The more you make room to integrate professional mentorship in the workplace across age and seniority, the closer you can get as a mentor or mentee to a more collaborative workplace that benefits everyone.

If you are a millennial woman, Ann Shoket likely shaped how you view beauty, fashion, and pop culture. As the Editor-in-Chief of Seventeen during its peak era, she was the gatekeeper of cool. However, looking back, Ann doesn’t see her time at the legacy brand as the ultimate destination. She sees it as a lesson in the power that women hold.

When asked if ambition has become a dirty word for career women, Ann is quick to reframe the narrative. “Pick another word,” she challenges. “Freedom. Do you like freedom? Do you like possibilities? Ambition is just wanting what you want and knowing you have the ability to get it,” she stated in the episode.

From The Throne To Ownership

Ann describes her time at Seventeen as sitting in a borrowed seat, a legendary throne she was honored to sit in, but realized she didn’t own. Shoket admits the transition to entrepreneurship wasn’t initially the plan, but it became her savior. Ann recalls the weight of trying to save the magazine business from the 2008 crash and digital shifts.

“The day I realized those were no longer my problems to solve was the best day of my life,” she clarified. Freed from trying to save a dying industry, she focused on her true mission: talking to the next generation of women about their life plans.

Solving The Loneliness Of High Achievement

After the pandemic halted her summit-based business, Ann pivoted again, acquiring The Li.st, a high-impact community featuring names like Shonda Rhimes and Jodi Cantor. Why? Being a high-achieving woman can be inherently lonely.

“The world is not built for you. The world is not built for me,” Ann says. By creating a community for women who have already broken the rules, she is moving past incremental change toward sparks of creativity.

The 10x Founder Framework For Accelerating Learning Cycles With AI https://heragenda.com/p/the-10x-founder-framework-for-accelerating-learning-cycles-with-ai/ Wed, 11 Mar 2026 12:00:00 +0000 https://heragenda.com/p/ Read More... from The 10x Founder Framework For Accelerating Learning Cycles With AI

Founders are no longer competing solely on hard work or intuition, as they’re now competing with how fast they can learn, iterate, and deliver value. According to Tech Bullion, the “10x founder” framework reframes success as a function of accelerated learning cycles powered by AI, where iterative feedback, real-time insights, and automated systems transform founders into exponential learners.

This framework doesn’t just boost productivity. It reshapes the core mechanics of startup growth and innovation with a modern tool at hand.

What Is A 10x Founder In The AI Context?

Source: Pexels

A “10x founder” has traditionally been someone whose output greatly exceeds that of peers. As Tech Bullion stated, when adapted to artificial intelligence, this concept evolves into 10x learning velocity, founders who use AI to compress feedback loops, accelerate experimentation, and iterate with real data instead of intuition.

AI enables founders to extract insights, validate assumptions, and refine strategies at speeds that were previously impossible without large teams or long development cycles. According to Entrepreneur, AI-driven startups are achieving faster product-market fit and scaling sooner thanks to data-rich cycles that inform decisions in real time.

How AI Accelerates Learning Cycles

1. Real-Time Feedback And Rapid Iteration

In traditional startup frameworks, finding product-market fit could take months of slow experiments, surveys, and manual analysis. AI compresses this cycle by automatically interpreting user behavior, highlighting patterns, and suggesting next steps without weeks of manual processing. AI can analyze user signals to reveal what works and what doesn’t within days or even hours, per Startup Magazine

Startup Magazine also suggests AI can instantly reveal which features users engage with most, where engagement drops off, and what improvements might increase value, which cuts the classic “build-measure-learn” loop down dramatically.

Efficient Feedback Loop Design

Research from Tellrlabs shows that the design of intelligent feedback loops is crucial to AI-enabled learning velocity. For instance, when founders engineer systems that gather and act on feedback from product usage, customer support interactions, and market signals, they unlock a cycle where each iteration informs the next with increasing precision.

This can then translate into faster product optimization, higher retention, and clearer paths to monetization.

Automation With Strategic Oversight

AI tools can generate prototypes, suggest pricing strategies, develop initial marketing content, or even forecast performance trends.

However, founders still guide strategy, prioritize hypotheses, and make key decisions. According to Forbes, what differentiates 10x founders is the integration of AI into structured decision systems, not unfiltered reliance on outputs alone.

Why This Framework Matters

Source: Pexels

Competitive Advantage Through Speed And Efficiency

Forbes also suggests AI fundamentally shifts the competitive landscape. For instance, founders who build feedback systems can validate assumptions and pivot faster, giving them a strategic edge in crowded markets. Modern AI tools allow startups to test go-to-market strategies, code features, and build MVPs in a fraction of the time traditional methods demanded.

This speed can change how startups learn about their customers, adjust pricing, and refine user experiences. Founders who harness this effectively can also accelerate scale without proportionally increasing costs.

Democratization Of Expertise

Before generative AI, deep analytics, prototype development, and complex simulations required large teams or specialized skills. With AI, even solo founders or small teams can wield tools that previously took months to master, as per Idasara.

Balancing work and home life can feel like a juggling act that may not always flow. Many career women find themselves missing out on family birthdays, holidays, and important life events due to their drive, ambitions, and will to accomplish their goals. However, experiencing loss is inevitable, and when it happens, it puts a lot of things into perspective.

If you’re a millennial woman looking to find ways to navigate the loss of a loved one while still pursuing your dreams, Her Agenda has gathered some insight that may help.

Allow Yourself Time To Grieve

Although work can be a great distraction, it won’t take away the loss of a loved one, and the pain you may feel. By allowing yourself to be still and sit in the realization that you’ll no longer see that family member, you’re allowing yourself to let go of that person and what they meant to you. This doesn’t mean you forget about them, but you continue life and learn to live without them.

According to NBC News, for our own health, we shouldn’t stop or delay grieving. We have to go through it, and while we can’t control it all, we can take measures to make it manageable while we’re maintaining other obligations.

Don’t Feel Guilty For Being Career Driven

Guilt can be overwhelming when death is involved. Don’t allow guilt to rear its ugly head and make you feel worse because you weren’t around as much as you would like. No one ever said chasing dreams would be easy. As a career woman, you have to sacrifice time often, and most times your family suffers, but that doesn’t make you a bad person for going after your goals.

Help Guide says, don’t judge yourself, think that you should be behaving in a different way, or try to impose a timetable on your grief. Grieving someone’s death takes time. For some people, that time is measured in weeks or months, for others it’s in years.

Lean On Your Village

According to Help Guide, when you lose someone you love, it’s normal to want to cut yourself off from others and retreat into your shell. But this is no time to be alone. Even when you don’t feel able to talk about your loss, simply being around other people who care about you can provide comfort and help ease the burden of bereavement.

Call on your “true blues” since diapers, your high school and college friends, co-workers that have become friends, and your peers that understand completely how you feel. Career woman to career woman is unmatched when it comes to the fast-paced lifestyle, always on the go, never enough hours in a day, getting home late just to come back to the office three to four hours later. Enlist people who know and love you to help you through this trying time.

Prioritize Time For Family Every Week

Death will force you to change your perspective on life. Losing a loved one simply makes you aware that you have to cherish the short time we have here. No matter how busy you may be, arrange time in your schedule to make a brief call to your parents, elderly family members, nieces and nephews, and so forth during the week. That short call could change the entire trajectory of someone’s day– even yours.

Indeed states, establishing your core values means identifying what’s important in your life. When you understand what you want and enjoy the most, you might find it easier to balance your work and family life. Consider reviewing each aspect of your life and seeing if it contributes to your mission.

Anifa Mvuemba Announces Hanifa Pauses Production Indefinitely https://heragenda.com/p/anifa-mvuemba-announces-hanifa-pauses-production-indefinitely/ Tue, 03 Mar 2026 18:05:59 +0000 https://heragenda.com/p/ Read More... from Anifa Mvuemba Announces Hanifa Pauses Production Indefinitely

]]>

Anifa Mvuemba, the celebrated founder behind the Black-owned fashion label Hanifa, has announced that she is halting production indefinitely. After almost 15 years of redefining contemporary fashion and inclusive sizing, Mvuemba shared that she is stepping back to focus on her mental health and family following a turbulent season of business challenges.

The decision follows a difficult period for the brand after its annual Hanifa Friday sale in November 2025. While the sale was a massive success, unexpected production delays from manufacturers led to significant shipping backlogs. The situation traveled to social media, where disgruntled customers took to TikTok and Instagram to voice frustrations over missing orders and a lack of communication.

For Mvuemba, the crisis hit at an incredibly vulnerable time. The designer had just given birth in December and was forced to cut her maternity leave short to manage the public relations fallout.

“I just had a baby. I didn’t fully process any of it because I went straight from postpartum into crisis management,” Mvuemba told The Cut. “There were nights where I was sobbing in one room and then wiping my face to go be the best mom I could be for my children in the next room.”

Despite the brand fulfilling every order from the sale and issuing refunds where possible, the personal nature of the online backlash took a heavy toll. Mvuemba noted that the margin for grace is often much thinner for Black women in leadership.

“Founder-led brands operate under a different kind of scrutiny. And when you’re a Black woman, the margin for grace is thinner. That reality is exhausting,” she wrote in a statement.

Since its launch in 2011, Hanifa has been a trailblazer for fashion. The brand gained global acclaim for its innovative 3-D virtual runway show during the pandemic and its commitment to dressing women up to a size 3X.

Now that Hanifa paused production, Mvuemba admits she does not have all the answers regarding the brand’s long-term future. However, she is choosing to embrace the uncertainty rather than rushing to “prove resilience” at the cost of her own well-being.

“Right now, I’m reflecting. I’m protecting what matters to me in this season,” Mvuemba shared. “And I’m allowing myself to be human in the process.”

How Quality And Value Will Drive Consumer Behavior In 2026, And What To Consider When You Shop https://heragenda.com/p/how-quality-and-value-will-drive-consumer-behavior-in-2026-and-what-to-consider-when-you-shop/ Mon, 02 Mar 2026 17:00:00 +0000 https://heragenda.com/p/ Read More... from How Quality And Value Will Drive Consumer Behavior In 2026, And What To Consider When You Shop

]]>

We saw a shift in consumerism in 2025 as the U.S. faced self-imposed tariffs, rising housing costs, and a weakened job market. Consumer spending in the U.S. accounts for around 70% of the nation’s GDP (gross domestic product), which grew by +3.5% from July to September 2025, according to a January 2026 report from the U.S. Commerce Department. Unfortunately, the numbers do not reflect the sentiments of many Americans and their outlook on the economy. As a result, consumers are becoming more decisive as the U.S. economy continues to fluctuate in 2026. Spending looks to be more intentional for U.S. shoppers this year, as many economists expect quality and value to be the biggest influences for the average consumer.

Affordability used to be king, but in 2026, the crown may go to value, brand loyalty, and quality. Here is how your consumer behavior may change in 2026, and what to consider when spending your money this year.

Spending Will Reflect A Divided Economy

Economic headwinds caused by inflation, the rising cost of living, and stagnant wage growth have impacted the way the U.S. consumer spends their discretionary income. This was apparent in 2025, when we saw a “K-shaped” economy emerge.

A K-Shaped economy exposes a significant gap in how Americans have been spending and thriving financially over the past few years following the pandemic. The growing wealth divide shows a disparity in earners, as high earners continue to grow their wealth and spend accordingly, while lower-income Americans continue to struggle under a tough economy, a gap that’s been growing wider since 2022. This gap has also tugged on the middle class, as many fall behind under the pressures of rising costs.

Because of this wealth divide, the average consumer is becoming more sensitive and conscious of their discretionary spending. Economists expect more intentional spending, as shoppers look to be mindful of their budgets and spend accordingly.

Brand Value And Quality Trump’s Affordability

Getting more bang for your buck seems to be a bygone sentiment for consumers, and in 2026, affordability may not always reign supreme. A study conducted in 2025 by NielsenIQ of the future consumer outlook saw that consumers are adapting to economic instability after a rocky year for the economy. At this comfort level, consumers this year are becoming savvier in what and how they purchase and are considering brand value and quality over quantity and steep affordability. This trend looks to be evident this year in the way shoppers spend on items like travel and clothing, where brands are now focusing on reasonably priced items without sacrificing quality.

Another sector where the value and quality are starting to prevail over affordability is in the travel industry. For some consumers, the savings of basic cabin and carry-on only airfares do not outweigh the benefits of premium tier features and brand loyalty.

Delta Airlines, which struggled to compete for years against other low-cost carriers, saw a solid close to its year in 2025, seeing stronger growth primarily from its high-income earning fliers who helped pad the decline of the budget-conscious main cabin flier. The popular airline continues to target its core base: affluent, loyal fliers who ditched budget travelers like Spirit Airlines and the once-affordable Southwest Airlines for premium service and value.

Younger Consumers Are Driving Trends

Legacy luxury brands are grabbing the attention of younger shoppers and reinventing themselves, thanks to Gen Z and their mindset around overall quality and value.

A recent analysis by CNBC in December 2025 revealed the reinvigoration of once-popular brand names like Michael Kors, Gap, and e.l.f Beauty, who saw a comeback in 2025 with new and younger customers. The luxury brand market is expected to grow over the next 10 years, as hyper-personalization and a focus on sustainable materials will drive the sector’s biggest growing audience: Gen Z and Millennials.

Brands that reflect their diverse customer base in their marketing and product offerings and that are mission-driven are also catching the eye of the younger consumer who is now looking for a more personal affinity in the products they purchase.

Brands that make it easier to purchase will also continue to gain some traction with shoppers, with the rise of TikTok Shop and other social media channels marketing and selling products on their platforms, innovating the way shopping is done online.

Health Benefits Are Crucial To Consumers

Trends in 2026 point to a continued focus on health benefits for consumers with an emphasis on products that actively improve their lives. Nutritious, clean, and effective, accessible everyday products look to corner the market in the health, food, and beauty space. The rise in GLP-1 products for weight loss and management, the effects of the boom of the wellness influencer industry, and the increased attention around ingredients like protein and fiber all suggest that consumers are looking to make purchases that maximize their overall wellness. According to market trends studied by Food Technology’s 2026 IFT Consumer Trends Survey, value, affordability, and health & wellness will be the key drivers for consumers looking to purchase food and healthcare products. Purchases will be driven by health benefits consumers are looking to experience, and they are willing to pay for them.

Launching a sustainable business in this economy can be a challenge. Nothing is promised, and a circular economy is quickly becoming the new normal.

If you aren’t aware, a circular economy is a system where materials never become waste and nature is regenerated. In a circular economy, products and materials are kept in circulation through processes like maintenance, reuse, refurbishment, remanufacturing, recycling, and composting.

Here are tips to ensure that your business gets a fair shot at launching properly and sustaining the economy as circulation and processing inevitably does its thing.

Network: Before, During, And After Launching

There is no on or off switch when it comes to networking. You have to network to obtain connections and sustain connections. This requires you to have a strong marketing plan, to utilize all communication channels (phone, email, social media), and to know how to present your brand.

According to Management Executive Education, indirect connections forged through professional networking can pay off down the line. As your company grows, you’ll need to reach out to more people in your industry to keep things running smoothly. If these people already trust you on a personal level, you’re already a step ahead.

Create A Solid Plan (And Stick To It)

Creating a solid brand looks like brainstorming, outlining important details, cementing the foundation of your company, setting your standards and integrity in stone, and being the vessel that essentially keeps the ship moving.

As referenced from Accountant Cape Coral, a business plan is your strategic blueprint for success, detailing everything from your objectives to marketing strategies and financial forecasts.

You need to focus on a solid business plan structure to lay the groundwork for achieving your goals. Start with effective goal-setting strategies to clarify your vision and path forward.

Market analysis techniques are crucial to understanding your industry landscape and competition, which in turn informs your strategic decisions. Highlighting the importance of financial projections demonstrates your business’s viability and potential to stakeholders.

Do Your Research!

Founding and launching a company is no easy feat; You have to research your competitors, analyze the field you’re stepping into, understand what a circular economy is and how that will affect your business, and create a plan that will sustain your business. Before a business is able to be launched, comprehensive strategies should be weighed thoroughly.

Considering the difficulty of starting, research should assist you in spotting allies in business. These are not necessarily family and friends. Talking about help, those who could help by offering training, loans, and advice, and those who could give referrals. These are people who are willing to help because you are or might be of importance to them or their businesses. To them, having a good relationship with you or your business will help them flourish. Such could be money rendering firms or firms that could find your interdependence valuable.

Accept The AI Integrations

AI is here and progressing daily; it’s something we must accept and grow to learn. As technology grows, so will AI’s reach. According to Entrepreneur, emerging technologies are enabling business owners to automate routine tasks, like scheduling, invoicing, and inventory tracking, allowing employees to focus on more strategic, value-added work. This shift is especially valuable for companies navigating labor shortages, which affect 61% of businesses.

The Co-CEO Revolution And Why Shared Power Is The New Executive Standard For Women https://heragenda.com/p/the-co-ceo-revolution-and-why-shared-power-is-the-new-executive-standard-for-women/ Wed, 25 Feb 2026 13:00:00 +0000 https://heragenda.com/p/ Read More... from The Co-CEO Revolution And Why Shared Power Is The New Executive Standard For Women

Could it be true? Are two minds really better than one? There is a growing trend. The boards of directors of profitable companies are opting to have two people fill the role of CEO, rather than the traditional one-person model. Several factors are the cause of this new trend. A few positive results of having two leaders include slower burnout, increased collaboration, more flexability and greater diversity.

A Harvard Business Review has shown that the average tenure of a CEO has been decreasing year after year. This information has been convincing enough for leadership to take a second look at the current C-Suite structure. Not only does having two leaders reduce the workload, but it also increases profits. The average company with one CEO yields roughly 6.9% returns for shareholders while companies with two CEOs yield around 9.5%, according to an article by Russell Reynolds , a global leadership firm.

A Real Life Example

According to Marie Claire, Shan-Lyn Ma cofounded Zola in 2013 and has since raised $150 million in venture capital and hired more than 200 employees for her modern wedding-planning company. Earlier in 2022, she appointed Rachel Jarrett, a former co-worker at Gilt Groupe, as co-CEO.

Ma says Jarrett’s promotion—previously she served as COO—was a natural move to reflect the role she had already been playing. “Either one of us is capable of being a successful CEO on our own, but every day we choose to work together as partners, and we recognize that we and the business are made stronger because of that,” said Ma in an interview.

Source: Pexels

More Flexibility And Less Burnout

Women in the workforce require more flexibility. The co-CEO model allows for two individuals to share the workload that was previously on the shoulders of one individual. This new model not only offers flexibility in shared responsibility but also the potential for a more hybrid model of the role.

With wellness and self-care at the forefront of the future, companies are acknowledging the importance of work-life balance and the high demands required of leaders in the C-suite. Shared responsibilities mean more capacity. While less stress equates to higher performance and greater results for the organization.

Source: Pexels

Diversity In Skills And Talent

There is a declining commitment to gender diversity in the workplace. The new revolution of the co-CEO is an opportunity for women to advance within companies and create pipelines for the career advancement of others. The co-CEO model allows for two individuals with two completely different strengths to offer a multitude of different skills, all while working toward a common goal.

The co-CEO model is growing in popularity and changing the way leadership is viewed. Having two people share responsibility, share influence, and contribute to the upward mobility of a company is being adopted across several industries. This shift in thinking is making way for more women in the workplace, according to an article in Forbes.

Succession Planning And Talent Retention

An often overlooked perk of a co-CEO leadership structure is succession planning. A co-CEO model allows the existing CEO time and space to properly transition duties and responsibilities while sharing existing processes and culture. Another great perk is the retention of talent. Companies are not forced to choose one candidate and phase out the other. An organization can keep both qualified contenders and have the best of both worlds.

Change Is Good, Success Is Better

Although the idea of what or who fills the position of Chief Executive Officer is evolving, the impact and importance of the role remain the same. The title of Co-CEO still has weight and power, and as luck (and strategy) would have it, the crown now comes in a matching set and just happens to be a little-bit-lighter. Women across different sectors are setting a new executive standard with the co-CEO revolution.

If you take a look at your social media feed, you’ll soon realize that the digital world is saturated with AI-generated content, bots, and algorithmic feeds. But the thing that still matters most is something only humans can genuinely build: trust. For entrepreneurs and small business owners, brand trust has become the most scalable long-term asset. It’s what allows a business to grow beyond one-off transactions into durable relationships, and it becomes especially powerful when so much of the content around your audience feels generic, automated, or interchangeable.

What Brand Trust Really Means

At its core, brand trust is your audience’s confidence that you will do what you say you will do, over and over again. As Qualtrics explains in this research on brand trust, it “grows as a brand consistently lives its values and meets the expectations it has established in the minds of its customers.” A recent Clutch brand authenticity survey found that 97 percent of consumers say authenticity influences their decisions, 85 percent say they bought from a brand because it felt authentic, and 70 percent are willing to pay more for brands they perceive as real. Those are bottom-line numbers, not soft metrics.

That’s exactly what makes it such a powerful, scalable asset for companies: every honest interaction, fulfilled promise, and aligned decision feeds into a growing reservoir of trust that competitors can’t easily copy.

Why AI Makes Trust Even More Important

Marketers already use artificial intelligence in everyday marketing. Brands use it to generate copy, respond to customer messages, and personalize recommendations. Used well, AI can absolutely enhance the customer experience.

But there’s a growing paradox.

As AI gets better at sounding human, consumers are becoming more skeptical of content that feels too perfect, too polished, or too generic. A recent Forbes analysis of consumer research shows that AI‑like content makes consumers trust brands less and see them as less authentic, relatable, and trustworthy. AI can support your systems, but only the humans in your business can earn your customers’ trust.

4 Ways To Scale Brand Trust

Publishing more posts, emails, or ads does not automatically build trust. Consistently delivering on your promises does, and that equity compounds over time. Research published in Electronic Commerce Research and Applications shows that when customers trust a brand, they are more likely to stay loyal, continue purchasing, and engage in positive word‑of‑mouth over the long term, the kind of behavior that expands revenue potential far beyond any single transaction.

Source: Unsplash
 1. Practice Transparent Communication: Research from the Kearney Consumer Institute on “Building trust in an age of skepticism” shows that in a low‑trust environment, brands earn consumer confidence by being clear and consistent about what customers can expect. Kearney highlights that brands that “avoid potential trustbusters like shrinkflation, price increases, formula changes, and shifting return policies—even when tinkering with the experience would improve the brand’s margins.”
 2. Deliver Consistently On Your Promises: As the Yale School of Management explains in its piece on navigating brand trust in modern marketing, trust grows when a brand’s actions reliably match what it says it stands for. They note that brands must not only offer a quality product, but also provide quality service by “attending to consumers’ needs, delivering on promises, and demonstrating ample knowledge and expertise in the category.” In a crowded, skeptical market, consistently doing what you say you will do becomes a core way to earn and sustain brand trust over time.
 3. Be Open About How You Use AI: As the World Economic Forum notes in its discussion of consumer trust and AI, companies are expected to demonstrate that their systems are ethical, explainable, and used with care, and those that proactively do so are more likely to be trusted and recommended by consumers. In their report, they claim that “those who openly communicate in this way about how their technology works are more likely to be trusted by consumers to use AI to its full potential.”
 4. Leverage Social Proof As A Trust Signal: According to an article by Wharton Executive Education, social proof is one of the most important trust signals for modern businesses. Customers increasingly rely on reviews, ratings, and visible demand, like a busy store or long line, to decide which brands to trust. When people can see that others have chosen and endorsed a business, it reassures them that the company is legitimate and likely to deliver a good experience.

On February 13, 2026, MEFeater Magazine returned to New York Fashion Week with its now-annual Galentine’s runway show. A high-energy celebration of women designers, performers, and creative community. Founded by Gabrielle Amani in 2013 when she was just 17, MEFeater began as a youth-driven fashion and culture magazine spotlighting emerging talent. 13 years later, the platform has evolved into a multimedia brand known for blending music, fashion, and entertainment — and Galentine’s has become its signature Fashion Week moment.

Now in its fifth year, Galentine’s was born, Gabrielle said, from something simple: “I love girls. I think girls are awesome.”

Positioned intentionally between the frenzy of New York Fashion Week and Valentine’s Day, the show reframes February 13 as a day to celebrate female friendship, collaboration, and visibility. “We need a day to celebrate each other,” she explained. “I love my girlfriends. We have incredible friendships.”

Unlike traditional runway presentations that center legacy houses or corporate-backed labels, MEFeater’s Galentine’s show exclusively features women designers — a decision Gabrielle has maintained since its inception. “Women don’t necessarily get the most shine during Fashion Week,” she said. “Men really run it… they’re really good. But to me, it’s economics.”

Her argument is less about talent and more about access: funding, sponsorship, and institutional support. With a background in marketing and communications and early experience on Wall Street, Gabrielle positions herself as both creative director and strategist. “I know how to sell,” she said. “I’m taking my talents of knowing how to sell an event to put this on for women who deserve it.”

Source: Yasmine Daas

This year’s theme leaned deeply personal. The 2026 edition drew inspiration from Caribbean and Panamanian culture, a tribute to Gabrielle’s heritage. After Jamaica was devastated by a recent hurricane, her family’s home — built over two decades — was destroyed.

“You take for granted how much a household holds memory,” she reflected. The resilience of her relatives, particularly her grandmother, became central to the show’s spirit. At the same time, a health scare involving her 96-year-old Panamanian grandfather prompted Gabrielle to reconnect with the Latin side of her identity.

“Even if we are separated by one sea — the Caribbean Sea — we’re all Caribbean,” she said. “We have to come together.”

At the Glasshouse in Hell’s Kitchen, that ethos of unity defined the runway. The evening featured presentation designers DUPPY, MAMAYASHI, and BAD GYAL BRUKINS, whose vibrant showcases celebrated movement, bold styling, and diasporic identity, setting the tone for a night rooted in culture and community. Between runway segments, a live performance by Cyn Santana transformed the event into a multi-sensory experience with two dancers, blending music and fashion while reinforcing the show’s cross-cultural heartbeat.

Source: Yasmine Daas

The runway segment reflected this spirit through three distinct but connected visions. BCD PLANET delivered graphic polish through black-and-white polka dots punctuated with mustard accents. A sleeveless A-line mini dress with a ruffled hemline moved fluidly as the model walked, while a tailored midi skirt was paired with a corset top and sheer puff sleeves in sculptural detailing. One key accessory was the Kwanzaa Hat — a modern take on the traditional African Zulu hat.

SEV leaned into high-impact textures and body-conscious silhouettes — a confident celebration of sensuality. Rich chocolate leathers, metallic silver trousers, plush fur trims, and embellished second-skin jumpsuits created a runway moment that felt indulgent and commanding. The emphasis on glamour, confidence, and bold presence is connected to the vibrancy of Caribbean nightlife and music culture, reinforcing the show’s message of unapologetic self-expression.

Source: Yasmine Daas

Tanya-Marie offered a powerful counterpoint, embracing bold, voluminous silhouettes enriched with layered ruffles, feathers, crochet, fur, and massive beading. The collection culminated in a dramatic finale look featuring a sculptural hat, voluminous sparkly trousers, and a heavily embellished floor-length blazer, styled with futuristic sunglasses. The theatricality and movement of her collection echoed the spectacle of Caribbean Carnival and the expressive nature of diasporic celebration, positioning femininity as both performance and power.

Source: Yasmine Daas

As in previous years, MEFeater fused fashion with performance, treating the show less as a conventional presentation and more as a cultural narrative. Gabrielle approaches each production as a journalist telling a story through reflection of her own roots in media. The result is immersive: music, movement, and styling working together to express identity and shared experience.

Behind the scenes, 2026 marked a major transition. For the first time, Gabrielle produced the show with an entirely new team. “This was the hardest year,” she said. “I started my business at 17… I had family with me. Now I’m 31. This is a brand new team.” The shift represents both growth and reinvention, a scaling up of vision.

Looking ahead, Gabrielle dreams big. She envisions Galentine’s becoming a cultural spectacle on the scale of the televised Victoria’s Secret fashion show; widely streamed, widely discussed, impossible to ignore.

“I want it to be filmed. I want it to be a big thing people talk about,” she said. At its core, however, the mission remains intimate: women supporting women, students finding inspiration, and emerging designers receiving a platform.

Facing The Fear Of Job Obsolescence In The Age Of Professional Automation https://heragenda.com/p/facing-the-fear-of-job-obsolescence-in-the-age-of-professional-automation/ Mon, 16 Feb 2026 17:00:00 +0000 https://heragenda.com/p/ Read More... from Facing The Fear Of Job Obsolescence In The Age Of Professional Automation

]]>

The rise of artificial intelligence is reshaping nearly every industry. Automation now completes tasks once exclusively done by humans faster and with fewer errors. Real labor trends ground this fear for many women. I know that tension personally; watching tools evolve, colleagues worry about job security, and people ask whether their roles will exist in five years.

But understanding that fear and learning how to manage it can be as important as mastering the technologies causing the change.

The Reality Of AI And Job Anxiety

“The picture of AI’s impact on the labor market that emerges from our data is one that largely reflects stability, not major disruption at an economy-wide level,” a 2025 report by Yale authors Martha Gimbel, Molly Kinder, Joshua Kendall, and Maddie Lee states. “While generative AI looks likely to join the ranks of transformative, general-purpose technologies, it is too soon to tell how disruptive the technology will be to jobs,” the report continues.

Source: Unsplash

However, multiple things can be true at once. For many women, this fear is grounded in real trends. A United Nations labor report shows that AI is more likely to reshape jobs traditionally held by women than male‑dominated roles, particularly administrative and clerical positions, even when those jobs are not fully eliminated. According to a 2019 McKinsey & Company article, “Between 40 million and 160 million women globally may need to transition between occupations by 2030, often into higher-skilled roles. To weather this disruption, women (and men) need to be skilled, mobile, and tech-savvy.”

But automation does not mean disappearance; recognizing the difference between losing specific tasks and transforming entire roles can help demystify that fear. And fear alone does not have to define our professional trajectory.

4 Strategies To Move From Anxiety To Agency

1. Embrace Lifelong Learning

Feeling obsolete often comes from the idea that our skills have a sell-by date. Taking control of your learning, from cross-training to AI literacy, can help you build more confidence and stay relevant because diverse skills make you adaptable to new workflows and emerging roles.

Source: Unsplash

2. Focus On Human-Centered Strengths

Great human skills, such as leadership, empathy, contextual judgment, and relationship building, are the areas least likely to be replaced by machines through logical thinking. Investing in these skills strengthens your role in ways automation cannot replicate.

3. Create a Skill Bridge Strategy

Identify where your current expertise can intersect with automation; remember that learning the tools already present in our industries is also a form of agency. For example, automation tools or AI can decrease repetitive work, freeing up time for higher-value contributions.

4. Talk About It Openly

Professional automation will continue to redefine work, but fear does not have to be your default response that thrives in silence. Sharing your concerns with peers, mentors, or even leadership can reveal that you are not alone and can lead to solutions, whether it is training, reskilling opportunities, or team support.

It is important to name what often gets lost in automation conversations: We are not experiencing any of this in a vacuum. AI is not a natural disaster! It is a set of tools created, deployed, and governed by people. That means workers still hold significant power. More than ever, this is a moment for community organizing, professional solidarity, and collective advocacy around how automation is introduced at work. Professionals can push for ethical guidelines, transparency, retraining, worker protections, and clear limits on AI use. By doing so, they shape the rules instead of passively absorbing them.

When we engage with AI critically, collaboratively, and with each other, the future of work becomes something we participate in building. Although there is no clear moment when AI will render an entire profession obsolete, what we are seeing is an evolution where roles change, just as they did when computers replaced typewriters or when spreadsheets replaced manual ledgers. Some tasks fade, others expand, and new roles emerge.

How To Manage A Multigenerational Team In The Era Of Ageless Offices https://heragenda.com/p/manage-multigenerational-teams-ageless-offices/ Mon, 16 Feb 2026 13:00:00 +0000 https://heragenda.com/p/ Read More... from How To Manage A Multigenerational Team In The Era Of Ageless Offices

]]>

Workplaces are not just multigenerational anymore; they’re ageless. According to a SHRM report, the workforce based on generations is made up of: Generation X (34.8%), Millennials (38.6%), and Generation Z (6.1%). So it’s not weird to see a team that consists of a Gen Z team lead, Millennial managers, and Gen X employees on the same team. This diversity can be a game-changer if leadership manages their team operation in a certain way.

The problem is not about someone’s age, but rather the positioning. Every generation carries its own unique set of skills, curiosity, and structure. Cambridge Dictionary defines unity as “the state of being joined together or in agreement” which suggests, effectiveness is not built on making everyone the same. But learning how to operate a team by using their strengths to help merge from disadvantages another generation might have in order to create unity.

Here are things to take notice of in order to manage a team across three generations that are the most common in the workplace.

Source: Pexels

Generation X In The Workplace

Generation X is the generation of people from ages 45-60, and is often known to be in the middle. They have enough experience to lead, but are still adapting to the fast-paced, technological space. This generation is looking to find a balance while they navigate how to be trusted with leadership, especially with Baby Boomers skipping retirement and staying clocked in.

Generation X wants autonomy and to be respected for their value in the workplace. They tend to have an “independent mindset.” When they don’t feel their needs being met, that can show up in the workplace as:

 • Withholding valuable information that can be efficient for the overall team
 • Hyper-fixate on metrics and KPIs
 • Only execute their tasked responsibilities without cross promotion of help

All these things can affect the morale and development of a team as a culture.

Empower Millennials Without Burning Them Out

Millennials are the generation of people from ages 29–44, and are the most revolutionary. According to Gallup, about 3 in 10 are emotionally and behaviorally connected to their job and company. They desire transparency and authenticity before investing energy into something. This generation is looking for real freedom and a seat at the table where they can also have ownership.

According to Deloitte’s 2025 Gen Z and Millennial Survey, “92% saying a sense of purpose is important to their job satisfaction.” Leaders should support and include millennials in the process, not just for the sole expectation of successful work output. When Millennials don’t feel leadership’s values and actions align, that can show up in the workplace as:

 • Wanting recognition for something before really doing the work
 • Pointing out what’s wrong with systems without helping fix the problem
 • Unengaged in committed tasks unless truly inspired

Millennials are managing teams and taking on more work while still proving themselves to leadership above them.

Develop Gen Z Through Behavior Modeling

Generation Z is the generation of people from ages 13–28, and are considered the “real” enforcers of ageless offices. This generation is very observant and desires examples and applications, not just explanations from leadership.

Work-life balance, respect earned and not given, and personal fulfillment were things Gen X and Millennials received as a perk, whereas Gen Z requires them. In order for Gen Z to bring their fresh perspectives, they want to feel seen in the workplace. When they feel dismissed or don’t see leaders lead by example, that can show up in the workplace as:

 • Only culture-led thinking, if not properly explained long-term, organizational strategies
 • Desiring the spotlight before sacrifice or hard work
 • Very reactive and expresses strong feelings

How To Navigate The Rise Of Agentic AI In Your Daily Workflow https://heragenda.com/p/navigating-the-rise-of-agentic-ai-in-your-daily-workflow/ Fri, 06 Feb 2026 17:00:00 +0000 https://heragenda.com/p/ Read More... from How To Navigate The Rise Of Agentic AI In Your Daily Workflow

]]>

As if the rise of AI wasn’t enough, the plot thickens. There are layers to AI, and the expansions can affect the need for human input in the workplace and everyday life. Customer service jobs like waitressing, customer service representatives, virtual support, and even cars are being replaced by Agentic AI.

However, Agentic AI can be convenient in regard to making life easier, as it is designed to take action and reach goals. In this climate of technology, it’s important to get acclimated with AI so as not to get left behind or without a job. Contrarily, AI is taking over, and with the swift advancements in technology, it could result in the loss of many jobs and several malfunctions.

Source: Pexels

Agentic AI Offers Convenience In Daily Life

Pros

With the click of a button, you can order food and have it delivered from a Waymo vehicle. Pudu Bellabot serves food at restaurants, which eliminates the need for a waitress; not to mention the convenient Point of Sale (POS) systems that allow you to pay at the table on the device.

Cons

Contrarily, AI is essentially taking money from what could have been a delivery driver and a waitress. By creating convenience and quicker methods to provide customer service, it eliminates the need for a working person; this also takes away the human aspect of encounters, because the robot will ask: “Hey, how’s your day going?”

Source: Pexels

Agentic AI Can Make Daily Workflow Lighter

Pros

According to IBM, agentic AI can manage business processes autonomously and handle complex tasks like reordering supplies and optimizing supply chain operations. It can automate internal workflows to make it easier on human employees without the need for their physical intervention.

Cons

Introducing AI in business eliminates the need to hire additional people to do several tasks.

Although AI is capable of handling a heavy workload, it is still a machine, and machines malfunction. This leaves the doors open to potential data leaks, oversights, errors, fraud, and more. The human aspect of common sense, intuition, brainstorming, ethical and moral judgment is obsolete when a robot is left to decide the best decision.

Agentic AI Will Continue To Expand

Pros

Expansions mean progression and more opportunity to capitalize on not only technology but also executing tasks and goals, which is its main purpose. Its ability to work fast and effectively will greatly benefit businesses.

According to MoveWorks, by 2028, 33% of enterprise software applications will incorporate Agentic AI to manage complex tasks and workflows. Organizations that embrace this shift today will gain a massive competitive advantage—automating decision-making, streamlining operations, and unlocking new levels of productivity.

Cons

Unfortunately, the very things that make AI great are what make it a great risk. Incorporating Agentic AI to manage tasks will change the trajectory of the workforce, as it will impact future generations, as the need for a human manager won’t be necessary.

Ultimately, no matter how much Agentic AI is integrated, the need for human life in the workforce will remain. If it is looked at as assistance as opposed to a means of replacement, the two could co-exist productively.

Though there are pros and cons to every situation, it is imperative to do research on things that aren’t familiar or new. As technology advances daily, it’s inevitable that we stay abreast of updates. Agentic AI is designed to benefit businesses, yet it eliminates human workers. However, many Gen Z and millennials are ahead of the curve in entrepreneurship as their preferred route of employment.

5 Steps To Pivot Your Side Hustle Into A Micro-SaaS Business https://heragenda.com/p/pivot-side-hustle-into-micro-saas/ Wed, 04 Feb 2026 13:00:00 +0000 https://heragenda.com/p/ Read More... from 5 Steps To Pivot Your Side Hustle Into A Micro-SaaS Business

]]>

A Micro-SaaS business is a small software-as-a-service business that focuses on solving one specific problem for a niche audience. This is the perfect outfit to transition to from running a side hustle. By transforming your side-hustle into a narrow business, you can deliver a lean, targeted solution that can scale efficiently without high overhead costs.

1. Validate Your Idea

The first step is to ensure that your side hustle has potential as a Micro-SaaS business. This means validating that there’s a genuine demand for your product or service. You can do this by:

 • Survey Your Target Market: Research your industry’s trends using tools like Google Trends. Carry out online surveys, interviews, and media polls to gather feedback. Do you have potential repeat customers? You need to have a steady and growing customer base.
 • Talk to potential customers: This is the best way to get honest feedback. Reach out to customers in your target industry, explain your idea, and ask them if it’s something they’d pay for.
 • Create a description site: Before you build anything, create a simple site that explains what your micro-SaaS does. Add a sign-up form for people to join for more information, and even request early access. If people are signing up, you might be onto something.
 • Analyze Competitors: Study existing businesses offering similar solutions to identify your unique value proposition.

Having checklists in place can help you make an informed decision by assessing the risks to determine whether it’s time to make the pivot.

2. Assess Your Finances

One of the most significant barriers to going full-time is financial stability. You need to ensure that the business is sustainable. Take time to review your numbers and conduct a financial health check, which is a comprehensive assessment of your business’s finances.

 • Is your revenue consistent enough?: Can this new model generate a steady income for at least six to twelve months? Will it generate enough to cover your business expenses? Consider whether this new business model can grow — and how that growth could be supported full-time.
 • An Emergency Fund: Save at least 6 to 12 months’ worth of business expenses to give yourself a safety net during the early stages.
 • Track Your Finances: Use budgeting tools and apps to keep track of income, expenses, and cash flow. This precise monitoring will help you understand and tailor your business’s financial goals.
 • Tax Implications: A new business model might come with new tax responsibilities. You need to research your business’s tax responsibilities in whatever location you reside.
 • Seek Financing: Building a bigger business than before might need additional requirements, such as hiring employees, investing in software, or buying inventory for your business. You can seek financing. Financing gives you the cash flow to invest in solutions that will increase your revenue long-term. Some ways to do this include: investment from friends and family, applying for a Small Business Administration loan, starting an online crowdfunding campaign, or applying for a government grant.

3. Learn How To Build A Business

To successfully pivot from a side-hustle to a legitimate business, you need to understand what business truly is and build a good foundation

 • Write a good business plan: Your business plan doesn’t have to be long, but it should outline your mission, goals, competitive analysis, marketing approach, and financial forecasts. Build a framework that helps to define what success looks like while ensuring systems can support future growth and expansion.
 • Choose the right business structure: You may currently operate as a sole proprietor, but transitioning often means considering a more formal business structure. While many side hustlers opt to form an LLC, it’s important to choose a structure that aligns with your long-term goals and legal requirements.
 • Prepare your documentation: Depending on your industry, scaling legally and safely may require securing the right licenses, permits, insurance, contracts, or compliance documentation.
 • Develop a Niche: Micro-SaaS is built on a small niche. A niche software business that serves a very specific audience or solves a hyper-focused problem. What’s the one problem you think you can solve?

4. Sales and Marketing

It’s essential to establish your brand and build an audience, as visibility is really important. A strong brand presence can give your startup a significant boost:

 • Develop a Brand Identity: What does your brand stand for? What problem do you solve, and how do you do it differently? Having a consistent brand message builds credibility and trust. Define your brand’s mission, values, and unique voice. Design a memorable logo and visual identity that reflects your business’s personality.
 • Leverage Social Media: Start creating content and engaging with potential customers on platforms like LinkedIn, Instagram, and Twitter. Pick two or three channels that best reach your target audience. Focus your energy where your customers spend time.
 • Build an Email List: Offer valuable content, such as guides, newsletters, or discounts, to attract subscribers who are genuinely interested in your product.
 • Partnerships: Find complementary products or services in your niche and explore partnership opportunities.
 • Cold Outreach: Don’t underestimate the power of a good old-fashioned email campaign. Reach out to potential customers directly and offer them a free trial or demo.

5. Have The Right Mindset

Pivoting to a new business model isn’t just a professional shift; it’s a personal one. Your mindset can be just as important as your business plan.

 • Am I ready for the uncertainty?: Entrepreneurship comes with highs and lows. Be honest with yourself about your ability to navigate this.
 • Set Achievable Goals: This transition requires a clear roadmap and a feasible timeline. Break down your goals into actionable steps and set short-term milestones.

Navigating The Impact Of The National ICE Strike On Workplace Stability https://heragenda.com/p/navigating-the-impact-of-the-national-ice-strike-on-workplace-stability/ Fri, 30 Jan 2026 17:30:00 +0000 https://heragenda.com/p/ Read More... from Navigating The Impact Of The National ICE Strike On Workplace Stability

]]>

Friday, January 30, 2026, the American professional landscape is not operating as usual. As thousands of students, workers, and business owners participate in the National ICE Out Protests, the movement regarding Immigration and Customs Enforcement has transitioned from a localized protest in Minneapolis to a nationwide economic event. For the professional woman, this moment presents a profound leadership challenge. We must navigate a climate where the safety of our teams, the education of our children, and the ethics of our businesses are being influenced by the actions of federal agencies.

The Her Agenda Forecast

Today’s Data. Tomorrow’s Agenda.

The ICE Out strike is a response to an escalating enforcement surge that has claimed the lives of eight people since the start of the year. This includes the high-profile deaths of Renee Good and Alex Pretti, which were captured on video and sparked immediate outrage. Looking at the data, perceptions of ICE are headed south. Polling from YouGov indicates that a majority of Americans now support a major restructure of the agency. This sentiment has also reached the boardrooms and classrooms we navigate daily, as more people conclude that the current system does not promote a stable and productive society.

According to The Guardian, organizers from groups like 50501 and various student unions are making a simple yet powerful point. The American economy depends on the very people who are currently living in fear. By calling for no work, no school, and no shopping, they are attempting to quantify the value of the immigrant workforce and their allies through the vacuum created by their absence.

What Role Do Women Play In The ICE Out Protests?

For many women in leadership, neutrality has long been the default professional setting. However, this is changing in 2026. The Guardian also reported a surge in the #DontServeICE campaign, in which retailers, gas stations, and restaurants are refusing service to agents as a matter of community safety. This has gone past political battle. It is about the social license to operate. When a business or a community no longer feels safe due to the presence of masked agents who have violently detained workers and children, the decision to refuse cooperation becomes a matter of protecting your own infrastructure and staff.

The shift is particularly visible in the hospitality sector. The No Housing for ICE campaign is pressuring hotel chains to stop providing rooms for agents during raids. As professionals who often manage travel budgets and vendor relationships, we have the leverage to ask important questions. We should know if our preferred hotel partners prioritize the privacy and safety of all guests or if they facilitate activities that disturb the local workforce.

Students’ Rights Are At Risk

Perhaps the most heated frontline of this strike is our school systems. In metro Atlanta, Chicago, and throughout the Pacific Northwest, thousands of students have committed to walking out of class. According to CBS News, the response from school administrators has been a mix of caution and, in some cases, outright intimidation. Districts in Georgia and Arizona have warned that students leaving class could face out-of-school suspensions and the loss of extracurricular privileges.

Source: Pexels

More troubling is the rhetoric being used by certain school boards. Letters sent to parents suggest that these disciplinary marks could have long-lasting impacts that might be taken into account by college admission offices and future employers. This is a direct attempt to use the professional world as a weapon against civic expression. While schools have a legal right to discipline for unexcused absences, the law forbids them from punishing students more harshly because their absence was politically motivated.

When a school district threatens a student’s entire career path because they protested the detention of a five-year-old classmate like Liam Ramos, they are failing their primary mission. Education should foster engaged and ethical citizens, not compliant observers of injustice.

A workplace cannot thrive in an environment of fear. Recent data from the Better Life Lab shows that intensified immigration enforcement directly reduces maternal employment and disrupts the childcare market. This particularly affects highly educated immigrant women. When our colleagues are afraid to drop their children off at school or drive to the office, the entire productivity of the organization suffers.

Leadership is about more than just managing a budget. It is about managing a culture. You can start by reviewing your internal protocols. Does your office have a policy for what to do if federal agents arrive without a judicial warrant? You can also advocate for students by pushing back against school boards that threaten their futures. Remind administrators that the professional world needs leaders who are willing to take a stand.

How To Future-Proof Your Career In An Uncertain Economy https://heragenda.com/p/how-to-future-proof-your-career-in-an-uncertain-economy/ Fri, 30 Jan 2026 13:00:00 +0000 https://heragenda.com/p/ Read More... from How To Future-Proof Your Career In An Uncertain Economy

]]>

Career certainty no longer comes from seniority or steady industry growth, but rather from adaptability, continuous learning, and strategic planning. Economic uncertainty, technological disruption, and shifting labor demands mean professionals must take control of their career trajectories.

Future‑proofing isn’t about job security in the traditional sense; it’s about ensuring your skills, mindset, and professional network allow you to thrive regardless of macroeconomic conditions, as per Forbes

Understand The Forces Shaping The Job Market

The modern labor market is influenced by several intersecting trends. Advances in artificial intelligence and automation are transforming job roles and skill requirements, while globalization and economic cycles create both opportunities and risks for different industries. According to the 2025 Rework Report, rapid adoption of AI, demographic changes such as retirements, and evolving organizational priorities are shifting the balance between skill needs and traditional credentials. Workers who adapt to these forces are more likely to remain relevant and in demand, even in uncertain economic climates.

Focus On Transferable And In‑Demand Skills

SOURCE: PEXELS

Upskilling and reskilling are core to future‑proofing. According to Go Banking Rates, it’s recommended to concentrate not just on technical skills, but also on transferable abilities that apply across industries. These include digital literacy, data analysis, communication, and adaptability, which are skills repeatedly linked to employability in uncertain conditions. A recent analysis of labor market trends highlights that digital proficiency and human‑centered skills like problem‑solving and leadership are increasingly valued by employers as automation reshapes work.

Investing in certification programs, online courses, or industry‑recognized qualifications can demonstrate expertise and give you a competitive edge. Rather than waiting for industry shifts to dictate your skill set, identify high‑growth areas and proactively align your capabilities with them.

Embrace Lifelong Learning And Adaptability

Future‑proofing your career means adopting a growth mindset, which is a willingness to learn, unlearn, and relearn throughout your professional life, as per Forbes. In uncertain economies, the ability to absorb new knowledge and adapt to change becomes a core competency.

Build And Maintain A Strong Professional Network

Professional networks provide access to job leads, mentorship opportunities, and insights into emerging roles, as per Robert Half. Reputable workforce research highlights that professionals with strong internal and external networks are more likely to be informed about opportunities before they appear publicly and are more resilient in the face of layoffs or industry shifts.

Networking also enhances career resilience by increasing visibility in your field and creating advocates who can support your growth. Whether through professional associations, industry events, or online communities, investment in relationships can pay dividends when economic conditions tighten.

Stay Attuned To Industry Trends

SOURCE: PEXELS

Being future‑ready means not only building skills but understanding the direction of your industry, as per Abe. Regularly reviewing labor market data, recruitment reports, and sector forecasts helps you anticipate changes and adjust your career strategy ahead of time. For example, data from workforce studies show that roles in data science, sustainability, AI integration, and digital transformation are expanding even amid economic volatility.

Monitoring where demand is growing allows you to pivot or expand your expertise in ways that increase your career resilience.

Cultivate Human‑Centric Skills That Technology Can’t Replace

While technical skills are important, human‑centric capabilities like creativity, emotional intelligence, leadership, and strategic thinking remain difficult to automate. Workforce analyses show that these uniquely human skills are increasingly complementary to technology, making them valuable assets in any economy.

Professionals who pair advanced technical abilities with strong interpersonal skills are better equipped to lead teams, manage change, and innovate, which are positions that remain in demand even when automation reshapes job landscapes.

How To Build A Creator-Led Marketplace On TikTok Shop To Move From Content To Commerce https://heragenda.com/p/creator-led-marketplace-tiktok-shop/ Thu, 29 Jan 2026 17:00:00 +0000 https://heragenda.com/p/ Read More... from How To Build A Creator-Led Marketplace On TikTok Shop To Move From Content To Commerce

]]>

The creator economy has established itself for about a decade now, with influencers and content creators designing unique career paths for themselves. This has evolved to a marketplace where products are promoted by these internet personalities with substantial followings.

They build trusted brands and communities that share in that trust, and unlike traditional DTC brands, they capitalize on this authenticity and trust to build something sustainable.

However, as platforms became saturated with multiple influencers promoting the same products, creators began to ask questions like: why promote someone else’s brand when they could build their own? These businesses often cater to niche markets.

This shift is reshaping the entire e-commerce landscape, as modern consumers are more likely to trust recommendations from real people. Creators can now sell directly to their followers with the trust they’ve built.

How To Transition From Content Creation To Commerce

This transition is incredibly beneficial because of the good fit, which includes:

Community: leveraging the direct communication channels with their audience through email lists and private communities, this direct relationship creates stronger connections and stable revenue opportunities. Creators bring a built-in customer base. The businesses can tap into their loyal audience from day one.

Trust: Audiences are increasingly skeptical of traditional advertising. But when a creator they trust promotes a product they’ve developed, it feels more personal and believable. Trust sells.

Control: Owning a brand gives creators more ownership over their revenue streams. No more pitching for deals or negotiating contracts with brands. It also allows them to diversify their income, an essential step for long-term sustainability.

Leveraging these benefits, you as a creator can build a sustainable business.

The Business Basics

The first thing is understand the business basics. From liability to tax implications, you need to understand the business industry and how that impacts what you want to build. There are many online resources and courses to help you with this process. It’s essential you get it right.

Additionally, it’s important to find the balance between being creative and knowing the economics. Creativity is the source, but the business know-how moves the needle towards sustainability.

Choosing A Business Niche

While there are a lot of different ways to make money online, not all are viable. To create a business as a creator, you have to assess your community and potential target audience in order to choose the right business ideas.

Many successful creator-led brands are rooted in personal stories and their community’s needs. Whether it’s skincare born from a beauty creator’s own struggles with acne, or a cookware brand from a food lifestyle content creator.

A good example of a creator-led brand includes Ali Abdaal, a productivity-centered YouTuber releasing a Book and App on Productivity.

How To Monetize Strategically

As a creator, the platform you create content on might determine where and how you sell your products. For TikTok creators, the TikTok Shop is the best way to monetize their content.

Creating A Tik-Tok Shop

TikTok isn’t just a marketing channel; it’s a full-scale launchpad. Viral content can translate to massive sales spikes, and TikTok Shop closes the loop between content and commerce. You can set up a TikTok shop in a few simple steps:

 • Set Up A TikTok Seller Account
 • The Logistics – Upload your documents and bank account details
 • Choose The Products To Sell
 • Present Your Products Through Content
 • Manage Orders and Shipping

How Professional Women Benefit From Creator-Led Marketplaces

Creator-led marketplaces offer professional women a practical path to income, ownership, and flexibility. By monetizing existing expertise and trusted audiences, women can build businesses without large startup capital or traditional gatekeepers.

Platforms like TikTok Shop make it easier to test ideas, sell directly, and scale gradually. This model also supports flexibility, allowing creators to balance commerce with careers. Most importantly, owning a brand provides long-term control over revenue, reduces reliance on brand deals, and creates sustainable income through products, communities, and digital offerings.

How Hybrid Work Is Reshaping Career Growth For Millennials https://heragenda.com/p/how-hybrid-work-is-reshaping-career-growth-for-millennials/ Thu, 29 Jan 2026 13:00:00 +0000 https://heragenda.com/p/ Read More... from How Hybrid Work Is Reshaping Career Growth For Millennials

]]>

Hybrid work, where employees split time between the office and remote locations, has rapidly shifted to a mainstream work model. For millions of workers, particularly Millennials (born roughly 1981–1996), hybrid arrangements offer new ways to balance professional progress with personal life.

Yet this shift is reshaping not just where Millennials work, but how their careers grow. According to Robert Half, both opportunities and challenges are tied to hybrid work, impacting mentorship, visibility, job satisfaction, and long-term career trajectory.

Hybrid Work Has Become a Dominant Preference

SOURCE: PEXELS

Hybrid work arrangements now dominate workforce preferences across age groups. According to HR Review, hybrid work is the most popular choice among jobseekers, with a majority preferring a mix of office and remote work over fully remote or fully in-office models. This preference reflects Millennials’ desire for flexibility while still accessing collaboration and visibility that in-person work often enables. The trend highlights hybrid work as a defining feature of modern career growth expectations.

For Millennials, this means traditional career structures are evolving. Instead of following the linear “office presence equals career advancement” model, hybrid work encourages a blended approach that blends autonomy with strategic in-office engagement.

Flexibility Strengthens Work-Life Balance and Engagement

Hybrid work’s appeal among Millennials is largely tied to work-life balance. Flexible schedules reduce commuting time and provide greater control over daily routines, enabling workers to manage caregiving, personal development, and professional responsibilities more effectively. Most employees believe flexible work improves quality of life and enhances career prospects, especially when they can choose how, when, and where they work, as per CIPD

For Millennials, who often juggle mid-career ambitions with family planning, financial pressures, and ongoing education, this flexibility reshapes career growth. Rather than seeing flexibility as a perk, many view it as essential for sustained performance and long-term engagement.

Hybrid Work Can Influence Advancement Opportunities

SOURCE: PEXELS

However, hybrid setups also bring challenges to career progression. Research indicates that workers in hybrid or remote roles may feel overlooked for promotions compared to their in-office peers. A study tracking flexible workers in the UK and US found that a significant share of Millennials feel they have missed advancement opportunities due to hybrid working arrangements.

This highlights the risk of proximity bias, where employees physically present in offices receive more informal mentoring, networking, or leadership visibility. For career‐driven Millennials, who value both autonomy and growth, navigating this tension is critical. Organizations and leaders must intentionally design hybrid policies to avoid disadvantaging remote or hybrid employees in performance reviews and promotions.

Hybrid Work Impacts Connection And Organizational Integration

Millennials often emphasize professional growth through collaboration, feedback, and learning from more experienced colleagues. Yet hybrid work can make informal interactions less frequent. According to People Management, younger staff, including those under 35, are more likely to feel less connected to their organization under hybrid arrangements compared with older colleagues.

This weakening connection may limit opportunities for mentorship, spontaneous idea sharing, or rapid problem-solving — elements that historically accelerate career growth. Employers must address these gaps by creating structured hybrid practices that nurture belonging and informal learning, such as intentional mentoring programs or hybrid team norms.

Millennials Still Value In-Person Interaction For Career Development

Despite flexibility’s popularity, many workers believe that some office presence still matters for career progression. According to Workplace Journal, time in the office is often linked to increased learning, collaboration, and visibility with leadership, which are key ingredients in promotions and skill growth.

For Millennials, who generally seek both flexibility and meaningful advancement, hybrid models must strike a balance. Office days can be leveraged strategically for networking, team alignment, coaching, and professional visibility. Younger professionals often report that time with colleagues helps them sharpen skills, build trust, and grow reputations in ways remote work alone may not fully support.

How To Build Career Momentum In Your First 90 Days https://heragenda.com/p/how-to-build-career-momentum-in-your-first-90-days/ Wed, 28 Jan 2026 17:00:00 +0000 https://heragenda.com/p/ Read More... from How To Build Career Momentum In Your First 90 Days

]]>

The first 90 days in a new role are a critical window for setting long-term career success. During this period, you are not only learning the technical aspects of your position but also shaping first impressions, building relationships, and establishing your professional reputation.

Career experts consistently note that employees who gain momentum early tend to reach productivity faster, earn trust more quickly, and position themselves for growth opportunities within the organization, as per Forbes

Here’s how your approach in these early months can significantly influence your trajectory.

1. Clarify Expectations Early

SOURCE: PEXELS

Building momentum starts with clarity. Early in your role, it is essential to align with your manager on expectations, priorities, and performance metrics. Having these conversations within your first week helps you understand what success looks like and where to focus your efforts.

According to Forbes, it’s emphasized that early alignment reduces uncertainty and accelerates effectiveness in new roles. When expectations are unclear, even strong performance can go unnoticed or misaligned. By proactively seeking clarity, you demonstrate professionalism, accountability, and strategic thinking — qualities that leaders value highly in new hires.

2. Build Strong Relationships

Career momentum can be closely tied to the relationships you create. Your ability to collaborate effectively, communicate clearly, and build trust will influence both your day-to-day experience and long-term success.

Employer career research shows that early relationship-building is a key predictor of engagement and retention. Taking time early on to get to know colleagues, understand their roles, and learn how your work connects to theirs helps you integrate faster. Strong professional relationships increase your visibility, improve collaboration, and create advocates who can support your growth.

3. Identify And Achieve Early Wins

Quick wins are small but meaningful contributions that demonstrate your value early. These wins do not need to be major accomplishments; they simply need to solve a problem, improve a process, or add clarity where there was confusion.

Deloitte notes that early contributions help new employees gain trust and momentum while reducing the perception of risk associated with new hires. Delivering early wins helps establish credibility and builds confidence for both yourself and your team.

4. Seek Continuous Feedback

SOURCE: PEXELS

Feedback is a powerful tool for accelerating growth, especially in your first 90 days. Rather than waiting for formal reviews, seeking regular input from your manager and colleagues allows you to adjust quickly and improve continuously.

According to UC Berkley, asking for feedback demonstrates self-awareness and a growth mindset—qualities increasingly associated with high-performing professionals.

5. Immerse Yourself In The Company Culture

Every organization has its own culture, including unspoken norms, communication styles, and decision-making processes. Understanding these cultural dynamics helps you navigate your role more effectively and align your work with organizational expectations. According to UC Berkley, observing leadership behaviors, communication patterns, and team dynamics allows you to adapt without compromising your authenticity.

6. Balance Performance With Well-Being

SOURCE: PEXELS

While it is important to make a strong impression, sustained momentum requires balance. Overworking in the first 90 days can lead to burnout and reduced effectiveness over time. Establishing healthy boundaries and sustainable work habits early supports consistent performance and long-term productivity. Indeed Career Guide indicates that employees who manage energy — not just time — are more likely to maintain high performance beyond onboarding.

7. Use A 30-60-90 Day Framework

A structured 30-60-90 day framework helps you pace your learning and contributions effectively. The first 30 days typically focus on observation, learning, and relationship-building. The next 30 days emphasize contribution and refinement, while the final 30 days are about demonstrating measurable impact and setting longer-term goals. According to Harvard Business Review, this approach is widely recommended as a best practice for new professionals and emerging leaders.

]]>

Mornings can be rough and draining, especially after the weekends. Your body has to get re-acclimated to your work schedule, and if you work from home, the challenge is a bit harder with the comfort level of working in pajamas and accessibility.

However, if you desire to create a more energized and productive morning routine that is sufficient and better prepares you for your day, Her Agenda has gathered a few tips that may help.

Give Yourself An Hour To Fully Wake And Start The Day

Many people set their alarms in the morning, giving themselves enough time to get ready, and maybe grab food on the way out the door. Meanwhile, your body hasn’t fully awakened, and it’s starting the day essentially in a rush. By giving yourself an hour to wake, lie in bed, and gradually begin to start your day, you’re allowing your body to start functioning properly. Just as a computer has to boot up and log on, so does your body; it is, after all, a machine.

Open The Windows

Opening windows can play a major part in how the day goes. Allowing the sun to enter your space gives you vitamin D, and the rays provide endorphins that ultimately bring a sense of happiness. Even on rainy days, opening the windows can make you feel less isolated and more in tune with the world. You are aware of what’s happening weather-wise, but also experiencing what the outsiders are as well.

According to Neat, in 2025, over 32.6 million Americans work remotely, representing 22% of the workforce. Additionally, remote workers report higher productivity and improved mental health.

Start A Gratitude Journal

Waking up with a grateful heart can make all the difference in your day. Many people don’t make it to see the next day, so practicing being appreciative for all that you have can start your day on a positive note. Journaling is also a therapeutic form of mental health; it allows you to get out your feelings, release things that are bothering you, and heal.

Designate A Workspace

Lying in bed while working seems appealing on the surface, but if you’re working from home, having an office or designated area to work ultimately can determine how productive you are. There are often many distractions in your bed/room, so finding a space that is quiet and allots or mimics an office setting can maximize your work day, and even make it go by quicker.

According to Gallup, 23% of Gen Z employees prefer to work fully remotely, the lowest of any generation. This compares to 35% of Millennials and 35% of Gen X who prefer fully remote work.

Write A To-Do List

Starting the day off knowing exactly what you need to accomplish and taking care of sets the tone for the day. Physically writing down a to-do list also makes it real. However, don’t over-compensate on a list, making it unrealistic to execute. Also, prioritize what is most important first, and let the list be your guide for the day. When it comes to working from home, being organized and sticking to a set schedule will benefit you most.

Ultimately, creating a morning routine that works will look different for everyone, but planning and being proactive make all the difference. Remote work is what you make it, but the mornings will depend on how you take care of yourself and check off the necessary things you have to get done for the day. Keep in mind that starting the day off on a high note begins with you.

How To Land The Job Of Your Dreams In Q1 https://heragenda.com/p/how-to-land-the-job-of-your-dreams-in-q1/ Tue, 27 Jan 2026 13:00:00 +0000 https://heragenda.com/p/ Read More... from How To Land The Job Of Your Dreams In Q1

]]>

The new year is here, and your dream job could be around the corner. Positioning yourself to land the job of your dreams doesn’t have to be a hard endeavor. Whether you’re looking to climb the ladder at the company you’re at, expand your business, or start in a completely new direction, all of these options are feasible in Q1.

The possibilities are endless if you create a tactical plan. Be intentional with what your dream job looks like. Writing down top priorities, choosing a career that aligns with your lifestyle, and approaching the job search with confidence and a well-researched approach will position you for a great start. If you’re still unsure of where to begin, here are some tips to help you get where you want to be.

Identify Your Niche And Stick To It

“A job search is like firing a bow and arrow,” said Krista Morris, Certified Advanced Resume Writer for Virtuoso Resumes & Recruiting. “We aren’t going to hit anything unless we aim. (And there is no trick shooting in a job search.) So, first comes identifying the bullseye. The alternative is throwing spaghetti at the wall and hoping it sticks. We all know it won’t. It slides down and makes a mess. Plus, who can afford to waste good pasta in this economy?!”

Applying to multiple jobs that are simply available and aren’t aligned with your niche won’t benefit you or potential employers. Narrowing down target companies that are hiring for realistic positions that you’re interested in and feel confident in applying to will most likely result in calls for an interview.

Strategize And Implement

“The most effective strategies are targeted and intentional,” said Marshall Scabet, Founder of Precision Sales Recruiting, Former VP of Recruiting at Forrest Performance Group (FPG).

“Submitting hundreds of applications rarely produces good results. Candidates who focus on specific companies, tailor their messaging, and approach the search with a plan tend to perform much better. Treating the job search like a professional process rather than a passive activity makes a significant difference.”

Before you start to apply to jobs, it’s important to understand what you’re looking for. Are you a morning or night worker? Will you be available for weekend and holiday work? Is the position conducive to your lifestyle? Is there a sufficient life/work balance? Landing the job of your dream starts with deciphering what that job looks like, if it will bring value to your life, and if hired, can you effectively do the job that is expected of you.

Feel The Fear And Do It Anyway

“Take more risks and be more selfish with your career,” said Logan Shacklett, Founder, Loch Legal Search. “Women are statistically more likely than men to make safe choices and prioritize being team players. Safety can provide comfort, but it can also blunt ambition. Prioritizing your own advancement does not make you greedy. It makes you strategic.”

Millennial women have the opportunity to build careers, foster companies from the ground up, and create their own paths. In saying that, fear can affect many aspects of growth. It can be scary to land your dream job, as much as can be expected and required. However, challenges show you who you are. Go for the dream and let it bring out the best in you.

Do Your Homework To Make Your Resume Pop

“Make sure to avoid ‘soft descriptions’ like ‘Improved team efficiency’ (even if they do make sense to you),” said Nathan Putsey, Talent Acquisition Manager at JobLeads. “Instead, add data to each bullet point, e.g., ‘Increased X by Y%.’ Use a clean layout that is easily scannable both by human eye and ATS systems. Also, include some case studies tailored to the position that show that you’ve done something like this before successfully.”

Be sure to use keywords that are outlined in the job description so that the employer understands that you are aware of the requirements. Pointing out key qualifications also helps you get ahead of the crowd.

]]>

In 2025, the glass ceiling began to look a little cloudy for women, and the 2026 career forecast isn’t promising any windex. The 11th annual Women in the Workplace report reveals that women’s ambition is at an all-time high. However, the top boys in the big offices can’t keep up.

The Her Agenda Forecast

Today’s Data. Tomorrow’s Agenda.

The 11th annual Women in the Workplace report serves as a deep dive into the American corporate landscape. But in 2026, things are looking bleak for women. While the reports of 2025 were filled with cautious optimism, this year’s data confirms a surprising opposite: corporate America is officially rolling back its commitment to women.

After a decade of diversity pledges and discussions of inclusivity, only 50% of companies now cite women’s career advancement as a high priority. This is a sharp decline from the 70% highs of the post-pandemic era. We are no longer talking about a slowdown in progress; we are talking about a regress. For the first time in the study’s history, an “ambition gap” has emerged. This is not because women aren’t capable, but because they are reading the room and realizing the ROI of their labor is missing.

Source: Pexels

The Sabotage Of The ‘Broken Rung

While much of the media focuses on the scarcity of female CEOs, the real catastrophe is happening at the very first step of the corporate ladder. For the 11th year in a row, the “broken rung” remains the most significant obstacle to overcome. This refers to the promotion gap from entry-level to manager.

The data remains staggering: For every 100 men promoted to their first managerial role, only 93 women are promoted. This is the exact moment the wealth gap begins. When a woman is passed over for that first management role, she loses out on the career launchpad. Higher bonuses, better stock options, and the leadership experience required for the next level.

When we look closer, we see the broken rung isn’t just a gender issue; it’s an intersectional crisis. For every 100 men, only 60 Black women and 82 Latina women reach that first management level. As stated in last week’s column, this isn’t a lack of merit. Black women remain the most educated demographic in the U.S., yet they are the most likely to be the token employee in their departments. This isolation leads to a “double tax”: the pressure to perform at 200% capacity while simultaneously navigating the weight of bias and economic instability.

The Myth Of The “Opt-Out” And The Reality of Burnout

The women in the workplace report finally puts to rest the tired narrative that women are opting out of the workforce to focus on family. Ambition has never been higher, especially among women of color. However, the report highlights that women lack support.

Sponsorship vs. Mentorship: Only 31% of entry-level women report having a sponsor, someone with the power to put their name forward in closed-door meetings, compared to 45% of men.

The AI Divide: In 2026, technical fluency is the new gatekeeper. Yet, only 21% of entry-level women receive manager encouragement to use AI tools, compared to 33% of men.

The Managerial Tax: The 2021 report mentions that women managers are doing more work culture management (mentoring, supporting DEI, and managing team well-being) than their male counterparts, but companies do not formally recognize this work in performance reviews.

The result? Major burnout. 60% of senior-level women report feeling frequently burned out. Black women have the extra issue of the aforementioned unrecognized workplace culture management. This creates a burnout ceiling that is nearly impossible to navigate without a radical shift in strategy.

DEI In The Second Trump Term: The Cold Front

We cannot ignore the political climate driving these statistics. As President Trump’s second term gains momentum, the “DEI rollback” has moved from a corporate trend to a federal mandate. The elimination of over 270,000 federal jobs, many of which were held by the Black middle class, has created a ripple effect. Corporations that once feared the social consequences of ignoring diversity now feel emboldened to revoke their initiatives.

When DEI is stripped away, discrimination becomes algorithmic. Many hiring platforms now use AI filters that have been proven to have algorithmic bias, filtering out candidates based on cultural fit metrics that favor the status quo, aka white men. If labor statistics become unreliable due to political interference at the Bureau of Labor Statistics, as TIME reported, we may soon find ourselves navigating an economy where the true struggle of women is hidden behind redacted data.

The 2026 Career Forecast: The Great Pivot

The forecast for the remainder of 2026 is one of self-reliance. As traditional corporate paths become increasingly stagnant, professional women are no longer waiting for the boys in the big offices to fix the rung. When you realize the ladder is missing steps, the best thing to do is to stop climbing and start building your own foundation.

This shift is characterized by women taking their expertise and applying it where they actually own the results. Instead of giving 60 hours a week to one company that could give you the boot tomorrow, women are taking their skills and marketing themselves. This allows them to stay in control of their time and their income.

The truth is, when women are sidelined in the workforce, they don’t just disappear. They pivot. They take their education, their ambition, and their experience and take control of their destiny.

The Forecast Strategy

The essential resources and mobilization tools you need to stay ahead of the current workforce shift.

Secure A Mentor: Don’t confuse a “work friend” with a sponsor. Read Her Agenda’s guide to mentorship and sponsorship. If you don’t have one, it’s time to find an advocate outside your organization.

AI Upskilling: Since managers are less likely to offer AI training to women, take the lead yourself. Utilize the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) grants in your state to receive free or low-cost certifications in AI-integration and data science.

Funding Your Foundation: If the corporate ladder feels stagnant, it’s time to fund your own agenda. The Breakthrough Grant Volume III is officially open, providing $5,000 to women founders ready to scale. The community is behind you. Apply here by September 17, 2026.

Find Community: Join the Her Agenda INSIDER community. In an era of DEI rollbacks, our collective power is our greatest asset. Access peer-to-peer sponsorship and community support!
